Synopsis
The Jonathan Ketchum Free Clinic is facing difficult times. It's lost a major source of funding (the nearby St. Alban's Church, which needs to use the money for a new roof), and one of the locals is stridently objecting to the clinic's method of preserving vaccines. Therefore, it's not entirely surprising that the director, Dr. Allan Rouse, appears to have left town. But the church's minister, Rev. Claire Fergusson, and the local police chief, Russ Van Alstyne, find striking similarities between Dr. Rouse's disappearance and that of the clinic's namesake, Jonathan Ketchum, many years before. As the investigation progresses, so does the romance between Claire and Russ.

    What's not to love about a mystery where the heroine (Episcopal priest Claire Fergusson) considers raising money for her church's emergency roof repairs by selling some of its antiques on eBay?

    Once again, series author Julia Spencer-Fleming combines drama, mystery, romance, and religion, all leavened by a dash of humor. Whether you read "Out Of The Deep I Cry" as a back-and-forth-in-time novel of suspense or just to find out whodunit, you are sure to enjoy the ride plus some great writing along the way.
