Out of Business [Limited] by EPMD (CD, May-2005, 2 Discs, Def Jam USA)

We bid farewell to one of Hip Hop's greatest duos since Run DMC. These business minded emcees consistantly put it down over some of the dopest, most firme, sounding Hip Hop tracks thus far. Whoever they had on their team dug through the crates and knew what songs to sample from and how to use them! "Out of Business - Special Edition" is worth getting for the "Greatest Hits" edition alone but the actual album itself isn't all that bad. On the "Greatest Hits" side its very disappointing not to have the original "You've Gotz to Chill" but the new rhyme flow that they delivered for this updated version is tolerable enough to still bop your head to. Who could resist rockin' out to the Zapp & Roger funktified track in the first place? Many of their favorites are here, "So Whatchu' Sayin'?", "It's My Thing", and "Strictly Busines". Even their new school joints like, "Headbanger", "Gold Digger", and "Never Seen Before" are here for your listening pleasure. I'm not to keen on the new tracks laid out for this album. It's much of the same stuff that EPMD has laid out in the past. Seriously hardcore Hip Hop that takes no shorts... so I'm sure long time fans will not be disappointed. All in all, I'd say this album is very enjoyable. I'm giving "Out of Business" a FOUR!
