It's unusual, but brilliant--

Camper Van Beethoven is the band who brought all of us "Take the Skinheads Bowling", remember? This is by far their best album. David Lowery, the lead singer, later joined Cracker and helped generate their success with a few more mainstream hits like "Happy Birthday to Me" and "Low".
This album is classic Camper, whose band members liked to explore different musical genres in order to put together an eclectic mix of music. Believe it or not, there are some successful elements of polka here, too! The choice of instruments (including strings) are interesting. A few updated covers of some songs, but mostly original. An unusual album, but listenable. It's necessary for any New Wave collection!
