The Others (VHS, 2002, Rental Edition)

Since I never read the book I was clueless and watched it over and over until I was certain I'd identified every clue. I couldn't believe I'd overlooked so many clues that led up to what was for me an incredible surprise ending. Clueless Nichole is at her most sternly beautiful. Couples friendly but you have to pay attention.

I found the movie "The Others" quite suspenseful in waiting to see who the 'intruders' were. The end totally caught me off guard. I loved the twist at the end. I thought it was a really neat ending to the movie that really topped it off. I don't like it when movie producers use young children for things like possession that and make it look so creepy, just like I don't like it when they have children swear in movies (the kids don't swear in this one). Other than that, it was pretty interesting and good performances by the actors. I didn't think Nicole Kidman acted like a normal mother that was simply 'scared'. She seemed kind of cold and uncaring even in the calmer scenes. She was a little too wired all the time it seemed like. Was a really different type of movie, and it was decent, no sex scenes, nudity, or the like. Not your everyday hum drum suspenseful flick.
