The Other Side of Midnight (DVD, 2007)

Your mouth will fly open at least 20 times during this pure soap opera story of a naive but gorgeous French girl Noelle Page (Marie France Pisier), who falls in love with a Canadian pilot Larry Douglass (John Beck) right before WWII. When he jilts her and unknowingly leaves her pregnant, she rises to the top partly by sleeping with movie actors and directors and a rich financier (Raf Vallone). Is it for revenge OR to get Larry back?

It seems that Larry has gone on to other women (a girl in London is rumored to be pregnant too). But he finds true love when he meets whacky Kathy (a very young Susan Sarandon), who is working for a public relations firm in USA. She makes more mistakes than miracles, but when she strikes gold it is a bonanza. They marry and are happy.

But Noelle now with money and fame as a model and an actress is keeping tabs on Larry. Eventually, he is unemployed after WWII, and she causes him to be hired as her personal pilot in Greece.

This movie is pure eye candy. The scenery is gorgeous, the music is gorgeous, the story is gorgeous, and the people dress extravagantly. Even the sex scenes are gorgeous. But when it all shakes out, it is a bit unsatisfying. When it is over, you wonder if the plot really is realistic. And the twist at the end will be your 20th mouth gasp.

This movie is also about 3 hours long. Watch it on a rainy day. It is a pure box of chocolate candy that won't cause any weight gain.

This is a movie never to forget,I first watch this 25 years ago and have never forgotten it.This movie is a love story with revenge and a twist.

This is the most wonderful movie ever! Wish there were more movies such as this! I have seen this so many times and still get chills at the end of the movie. Unreal ending and the best movie ever! I was given this movie because of my love for it 25 years ago at a surprise 40th birthday party and I still rate it as number l. Get this movie!

I purchased the movie for an older co-worker of mine who said his wife truly adores the movie. They loved it! They tell me it's a love story to be remembered. I will watch it one day!!!

I mostly liked it because of it's photografy, and the flawless performance of Marie Pisier. Just sorry for not have seen her in other movies again.

I saw this movie in a theatre when it opened and fell in love with it. I happened to read a review and knew that I needed to buy the movie and rewatch it. I love the characters, I love Susan Sarandon in her younger days, and I love the movie's story and plot!

I bought this DVD on September 23, 2008, paid same day thru pa-pal and it is November 1, 2008 and I haven't received item. I send them an E-Mail on this matter and never responded. Buyers beware!!!!

This is a wonderful movie. I absolutely loved it. I saw it when it was first playing in the theatre. I always wanted to have it in my movie collection. Now I have it and will enjoy it for years to come.

I am buying this because I have a friend who is SERIOUSLY negligent in some of the finer movies of our times,,,,,Graduate...only just saw the Way We Were.........and he asked me did you ever see the and I said OTHER SIDE OF MIDNIGHT!!!!! well he never saw it or read the book and after many failed attempts I said AHA eBay!!!!! so I am going to surprise him with the movie he said I couldn't find it yeah right
it is a GREAT film and it never got the due it should have as it came out the same time as Star Wars.........

It has all the action and romance one could ask for. The Other Side of Midnight is filled with constant excitement. It is so hard to put the book down, and I am not at all joking. Love, revenge, power, money, madness. Whatever you do, don't pass this read up. The people in the book are so alive. It is just like you are there, a fly on the wall. Don't pass this book up. Even those of you who don't care to read will love this book. Give The Other Side of Midnight one page and you will be hooked. Trust me. Buy this book!!

When I was in the U.S.Navy back in 1978 I made my first Med Cruise. I bought the book just to have something to pass the time. I'm not a big book reader especially love stories but once I started reading the book I couldn't put it down. I then wanted to see the movie and the only time I ever seen it at a theater was during the cruise in Israel.....as luck would have it the theater was closed because it was the Jewish sabbath. I had looked for the movie before but never found it in any store. I had all but given up when something told me to see if it was available on e-bay. Obviously it was, and I did not hesitate to purchase it. I realize that I paid a little more for the movie than what I would have at a video store however, I enjoyed finally watching it....and bringing some closure to a part of my past. It was like going back in time, and sometimes that is a really neat thing to do, we should all try and do that occassionally.

I thought that the story was really original without you typical ending. I loved how each of the characters developed through the years.

I bought it because the writer (Sidney Sheldon )is one of my favorites and I cannot find anything of his work to my country. So I decide to buy the movie

My wife and I both enjoyed the film. This is a movie that we saw during the Seventies and have not been able to rent. Therefore, we purchased it, It is an excellence romantic movie. However it should be made in HD.
