The Orlimar TriMetal driver is very easy to use, primarily because of the low profile, and the ease with which it addresses the ball at rest. Its very easy to see where the sweet spot is, because the head is a lot smaller, and flatter, as a low profile club, that usually you always hit the ball fairly consistently. I was quite easily hitting 240 yards always with this club. I would strongly recommend this and/or the fairway woods as a good compliment.

The common misconception these days is -the bigger the head, the further the shot- whereby in truth...you couldn't be more wrong.

The face on the Orlimar TriMetal will usually hit further than the Titanium most times, because the sweet spot is basically the whole head, and the trimetal has a much more higher COR (coefficient of restitution) than Titanium.

The accuracy that the fairway models gave was so good that it made these clubs world famous. Unfortunately the promotions campaign behind Orlimar wasn't as good as the large names out there today, and thus these clubs are kind of left behind, but if you get the chance, try to hit one of these models. In particular, the Orlimar TriMetal is the best ever. Its like hitting the ball with an illegal club, but its simply because of the way the head is cast, with a slightly closed head, and a very low profile, that it allows a huge swing to come off with very little error.

The greatest thing about these models are that they are a little old now, and can be picked up for an absolute steal now, and in my opinion they hit further than most new models, that you are paying for the brand name anyway.

All in all, because of the low profile, and the three types of metals in the face which actually hits further than titanium, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS.

I hope this review helps.
SWEET CLUB ITS TOP OF THE LINE!!!!!

You get what you pay for
Review created: 08/31/09

Like I said in the title...you get what you pay for. This club is found on Ebay for typically less than $20.00. For the beginner, it is probably a great option, but for someone looking for a smaller head driver to work the ball, it is not the tool for the job.

All the weight of this head is in the hozel. If you naturally draw the ball, you will be hitting quick, duck hooks all day long. If you fade the ball or hit a slice, it might be the answer to your prayers.

Club technology has come so far in the last 10 years. To put the driver in your bag, you are truly doing yourself a disservice.

I've been using a 8.5 driver but I wanted something with a little more loft for some of the hiller courses. I got a great deal on the club I wanted. How could there be anything wrong with that. Took me a little while to get out to the range but it was a great experinence.

  Unbelievable...
Review created: 04/28/09

This is a great club! I can't believe how straight and how far this little driver would send the ball (especially for the price). I would definitely recommend it to anyone. I was a bit unsure when I bought it whether or not I would be happy with it. After taking it to the driving range I am 100% satisfied with the purchase.

  Great fairway club
Review created: 10/06/08

If you're looking for a distance club off the fairway, try the Orlimar Tri-metals. I already owned a 15 degree Tri-metal which I found very easy to hit off a tight fairway lie, so I thought why not try a 10 degree for that extra distance and roll. These clubs are what the doctor ordered for fairway shots on those long par 5s, and you can buy them on the cheap off ebay. I don't particularily care for the Tri-metals off a tee, preferring my "big headed" driver for the initial launch.

I had been looking for a good 9° driver but didn't want to spend top dollar until I had the chance to try one out. I saw this club, it looked like what I was looking for, got it at a great price. Was extreemly please with it. It was in better condition than I expected. Only one thing on the down side. I thought it took a little log to receive it. But no big deel.
