Organic Housekeeping by Ellen Sandbeck (2006, Hardcover)

I first checked this book (and others like it) out from our library. Before returning it, I sat down to type up some quick notes from it of really practical applications throughout the house. HOURS later, my husband stated the obvious,"Why not just BUY the thing?" My close friends know that for me to spend money on a purchase, it has to be VERY good. And this book is. It is ultra-practical. You can use it as a quick look-up (I do this for stains often), and implement Mrs. Sandbeck's EASY cleaning system. I love it because it told me how to use very basic, yet safe ingredients to keep all areas of my home shiny, maintenanced, and germ-free. Using things like vinegar, baking soda, salt, and some pre-made products like Bon Ami-- it's easy to keep a sanitary home. It was liberating to pitch all "cleaning" junk that was full of unhealthy ingredients. Lastly, her system was substantiated by university research, not just her quaint opinion. Kudos to Mrs. Sandbeck for writing a book that will be given to each of my children as they set up house.

I got this book from the library first and read it and then I decided to buy it. It has so much information on how to use simple household solutions to clean almost everything. Also author gives many tips on organizing one's household. This book teaches you that you don't have to spend hundreds of dollars on cleaning products, but you can still keep your house very clean.

I bought organic housekeeping because my family suffers from allergies of the skin, nasal and also asthma. The book is incrediable it has so much useful information. I like the part that you can pretty much do a lot with baking soda and vinegar. It has everything from dusting to fertilizing your grass.
there is nothing in the book that I did not agree with or disliked.
