Out of the two the the blue model has the new updates. If you can find a 2 speed model, get it, The slower speed is great for bare floors, The single speeds are on high speed , the brush spins so fast, it causes a wind and will blow dust bunnies, hair ect out of its path. The slower speed does not. But for carpets the high speed works great,

I love the light weight Oreck Vacuum. I own a similar model and bought this one for a gift. It was packed in origial box and was in the new condition as stated. My only concern upon receiving the vacuum, I noticed that the box was in poor condition and I was worried that the vacuum was going to be damaged. It was i good shape however. I would recommend this vacuum to anyone.

I BOUGHT THIS VACUUM, BECUASE I HAD 2 ORECK ALREADY AND THEY WERE OLD ENOUGH TO QUIT ON ME. I DECIDED TO GO FOR THIS ONE FROM THIS PARTICULAR SELLER. I WAS SO EXCITED THAT I BOUGHT EXTRA 98 BAGS FOR IT SO I CAN USE IT INSTANTLY. THE MINUTE THE VACCUM ARRIVED DID IT NOT ONLY WORK, BUT THE BELT MELTED AND MADE A BAD FUME AND IT WAS SO BAD THAT I TOUGHT THE WHOLE VACCUM WILL BURN. I CONTACTED THE SELLER AND SHE REFUSED A REFUND AND SAID IT WAS PREFECTLY WORKING. IT WAS A TOTAL LIE. BASED ON PAYPAL DECISION, I TOOK THE VACCUM TO A DEALER AND THERE WAS A BRUSH THAT SUBMEJED IN WATER SO IT DIDN'T TURN,MELTED BELT AND CHOWED CORD PROBLEM. THE REPAIR ALONE WOULD HAVE COST ME AROUND $70$ ABD I PAID $60 FOR A BUY IT NOW PRICE. MY EBAY VACCUM FROM THIS SELLER NEVER WORKED. I HATED THE SELLER FOR HER LIES AND NOT COOPORATION OF TAKING IT BACK. MY ADVICE IS IF YOU ARE BUYING ANY USED VACCUM ONLINE MAKE SURE THAT YOU ASK QUESTIONS AND MAKE THE SELLER TO TELL YOU THE VACCUM IS RETURNABLE. I WENT THROUGH HELL WITH THIS VACCUM. This vacuum works extremely well. We especially like the extra long cord and how light weight it is. The only drawback (and we were aware of it when we purchased it) is the fact that there are no attachments so a separate hand vac is needed for the nooks and crannies.

Powerful, especially for the size. Does less well in deep pile carpeting, but does all else well, including bare floors

I paid more than I intended to but this particular model does extremely well. I have seen the regular models for $149 but this one does a MUCH better job.

I purchased this vacuum mainly due to the "light weight". I have a lower back problem and my old vacuum seemed like it weighed a ton, and pushing the thing was a nightmare. I would wait til the last possible moment to use it, or ask my husband (who also has a bad back) to take care of that chore. since receiving the Oreck XL, I can't believe how easy it is to guide, and the suction is great. I do miss my hose attachments, but I knew that going in to this decision to purchase. I'll continue to buy this product when needed.

I decided to purchase this vaccuum primarily because of the price being so affordable, and the fact that I've always wanted an Oreck based on the information I had heard concerning this brand vaccuum. What do I like about it~~~~everything, it cleans beautifully. The only thing I am disappointed about it is the fact it doesn't have a lever for carpet height adjustment, but other than that it lives up to its reputation. It is so light weight, not like the other name brand vaccuums that you can hardly push because they are so heavy, I love this vaccuum, it's a fantastic investment.

This is a good vacuum, although if you loo it up in Consumer Reports you will see that other, less expensive vacuums out preform it. However, it is light and well made which makes up for a lot of shortcomings. Before the Oreck, we used a variety of vacuums. The bagless are, as a class, usually heavy and hard to manuver. Dyson's rant about bag vacuums losing suction is, I suppose, true, but that problem is easly solved by changing the bag while the excess weight of bagless machines can't be solved save by using some other machine. I rationalize the Oreck's lack of preformance relative to, say, a Hoover this way; if you use a machine more frequently because it is light you are ahead of the game. A heavy but effective machine does you little good if it is too heavy to use.

Another down side of the Oreck is that it doesn't have any on-board tools. So. . . it really won't be the only machine you use. It will probably be the one that you use the most, though. One other thing that deserves mentioning is the price of bags. Historically, brands like Oreck have required one to buy expensive bags, usually from the manufacturer. Lately, though, Walmart has begun selling Arm and Hammer brand bags for the Oreck; three bags for $5 which is very competitive. In short, I like the vacuum but if you are considering one, be aware of its strengths and weaknesses.

Ligh weight, powerfull suction, adjust from carpet to tile to hardwood floors by itself, I had had it for a week and could not be happier. Only wish it had tools fot windowlills and the like.

I wanted a simple, no frills, light-weight and efficient upright vacuum cleaner for home use. This product has exceeded my expectations. First of all, it is simple: There are no light bulbs to burn out and have to replace, no spring-loaded cord retractors to break, no height adjustments or vacuum adjustment settings, no attachments to lose or make it difficult to store, and it doesn't look like a child's plays toy. It has a 35 foot power cord so I can vacuum one whole floor without having to change outlets. It vacuums bare floors, carpet and rugs without having to adjust anything, and it does it better than any other vacuum I've used. The bags hold a lot, and they are easy to change. Carrying it upstairs is so easy - not like the heavy, bulky and cumbersome cannister vacuums I'm used to. I am very pleased!

I bought this vacuum for my mother-in-law who has Parkinson's disease. She needed a light weight good quality vacuum. My wife owns one and loves it. I bought it on line because it was much cheaper. It works great and I am very satisfied so far. It was new and in the box and about half the price of buying one in a store. When my wife needs a new one, I plan to buy it on line. Sincerely, daglst.

Our daughter borrowed our Oreck and the only way I could get it back was to buy her a new Oreck. Two things that really stand out are the extra long cord and the ability to go from carpet to tile without any adjustments is GREAT! I can vacuum our entire home (2900 square feet) with plugging into only three outlets. That in itself saves several minutes of vacuum time. Could not be happier and highly recommend these vacuums to anyone needing a new machine.

I like everything about this vaccuum,it has great performance and weighs only 8 pounds! There is nothing I dislike about it.

I have an Oreck from my Mom when she passed and my 2 girls love it so I had already purchased one for my older daughter so I bought this for my youngest, We are a family who is SOLD on Oreck!

I especially like the ease of handling this 8lb vacuum. I am dealing with a problem with mobility and was watching for a fair price for a good vacuum.
The price was fair and the only thing I wish it had was attachments, but you get what you pay for. ORECK reputation helps sell their products.

I love my new Oreck XL2000. It does the job very well. I have a new rescued dog who sheds quite a bit. My ol vacuum just seemed to grind in the dog hair. My new Oreck picks it right up. It has a cord long enough to clean most of the rooms without moving the plug. I received my vacuum within a week after ordering.

I own a cleaning business and have now bought 3 Orecks from EBay. They are so much more affordable on here, and are the same vacum!! Can't go wrong with these vacums!!!! LOVE THEM--LOVE THEM--LOVE THEM!!!

I love the vacuum although it has no attachments for getting ceilings or crevises. It is lightweight and very easy to use.
