I love this book! It has been one of my favorites since I was young and as I got older was alway my sisters' favorite story to have read to them.
It's a fairytale, but not like those you are used to. Rather than beauty, or talents, or exceptionally good luck, the fairy in this story blesses the princess with 'ordinariness'. Without the blond hair, blue eyes, perfect complexion, and willowy grace of her sisters, Princess Amy has a fuller life filled with adventure and true friendships that never would have been hers in the world of a perfect princess.
