He speaks to your heart
I was in the same seminary as John but three years behind him. The picture he paints of seminary life is true as was the inflexibility of our superiors. Like John, I left the seminary and the Catholic religion, but unlike him, I embraced no other faith or movement. John's book actually gives me hope that there might be a "shoe" that fits me yet. Although I have not gone through any conversion process, I know that this is a true accounting of his own conversion, because his meaning transcends the words and goes right into your heart. Although Scal didn't set out to write a mystery and a thriller, he did. The best part is the happy ending that is so full of the hope that comes with a focused vision and real convictions.
