Shakira (real name Shakira Isabel Mebarak Ripoll)There’s a reason for her popularity, and in this English language follow up to Fijac on Oral Vol.1 (June 2005), she proves that she can keep her English-speaking fan base happy too.
Shakira is a good singer and takes advantage of her dual culture background -- Latino and Arabic. It's more Latino but with enough Arabic to avoid the boring formulas of so much Latino music.
She brings her sexuality but without overpowering the music as happens in her videos. Yes, it's sensual but in a PG sort of way... which is my preference rather than the explicit lyrics of, let's say, Pink.
She makes good use of guest musicians, like Santana.This makes an album more emotional and worth buying. Haunting music and backgrounds as in "How Do You Do" are outstanding. I recommend this album for anyone who is willing to try a new category in music.

very nice, i bought the spanish version too, which was also really good. shes a good alternative to all the materialistic celebrities you see today

I've been looking for this CD for about a month.I love Shakira's music and her latest album ORAL FIXATION VOL#2 is a top ten seller,I love the song "My Hips Don't Lie" and the lowest price in any store was $13.88 so when I found this at EBAY for $9.99 AND no shipping fees I had to have it!! It was like winning the lotto! Only thing that was hard was waiting for it to arrive.

) I decided to buy this CD because I LOVE the song "Hips Don't Lie". The CD was listed for $.99 and the shipping charges were very reasonable since the seller combined shipping with some other CDs I had won. The shipping charge for this CD ended up being $1.50!
I haven't listened to the whole CD yet, but I have listened to my favorite song several times! I can't say I dislike anything about it...I can listen to my favorite song anytime, I got a great deal, and even though the CD was used, it's in GREAT condition!

Big Let Down ~ Don't Waste Your MoneyI don't really like this CD. First, there are only one or two decent songs on it. Second, the biblical references in the first track along with her portayal of Eve in the Garden of Eden on the cover mixed with the colorful language throughout the rest of the CD was a bit hypocritical. On some of the other songs she sort of sounds like Ernie from Sesame Street. She may have been trying to create her own distinct sound but it just sounds...odd. I think she may be a "one hit wonder"

Bad Lyrics!!!!!!!!!! and not impressed even though I am a big fan of Shakira's voice and performing. It sounded like some high schooler wrote the lyrics in a 9th grade English poetry project. She is a great live performer, but her cd sucks.

Shakira has her own style, I love her voice. Some parts of some of the songs are difficult to understand, but the music is incredible. Unlike any other songs, she brings what I feel is a fresh approach to the industry. How much hip-hop and hard rock can you hear?

It took the mechant a long time to actualy complete the sale. Oh wait the sale was never completed! at all i was given my money back after a while of waiting and not hearing a thing. Not Cool at all, to sell a item you don't have is idiodic. So this merchant totaly wasted my time and screwed up a birthday. Oui My buisiness will go to some one else for good.

I HAD A GREAT EXPERIENCE. FROM THE TIME I PAID FOR IT, THE CD CAME FAIRLY QUICK. I EMAILED THE SELLER TO ASK A QUESTION AND THEY GOT BACK TO QUICKLY. IT WAS A VERY SMOOTH TRANSACTION. THERE WAS NOTHING NEGATIVE ABOUT IT.
