Operation World by Jason Mandryk, Patrick Johnstone, Robyn Johnstone (2001, Paperback)

This is an excellent way to pray for every country in the world in the space of a year. Reading the information included about the countries---historical, geographical, spiritual economical, has broadened my view of the world and taken me beyond the borders of the United States to see a world in great need. Anyone who cares to fulfill the Great Commission should definitely consider this excellent book.

I think this book is absolutely fascinating. It has a brief demographic description of each country as of 2001 and then a list of prayer needs for the country. You really get to know someone when you hear his/her prayer requests. This book shows that to be true because gives you insight on the culture of each country through the prayer request section. It's amazing to read the article on Afghanistan, especially since it was written prior to 9/11. My only wish is that they had an updated version.
