Operation: Mindcrime by Queensryche (CD, May-1988, Capitol/EMI Records)

This album is perhaps my favorite "prog rock" rock opera of all time. From beginning to end, the story sucks you in with passionate, intense vocals and melodic, yet heavy songs with emotional guitar solos that enhance the overall listening experience. If you have heard the song, "I Don't Believe In Love" without hearing the songs leading up to it, you are missing a lot. Buy this album today and be prepared to give it your full attention while listening to it.

I, sadly, lost my cd and fortunatley found one on Ebay! The cd is great - personally it is the best cd of the 1980's. The songs are amazing!

This is one a few albums where you listen and get mesmerized by how well this album was put together. Everything fits. You just sit back and rock away. This album is probably the closest to Pink Floyd's The Wall.

I absolutely LOVE this cd. Each is track individually is a gem, but combined is a METAL MASTERPIECE!!! Geoff Tate's vocals are mesmirizing. I bought this cd years ago and, unfortunately, lost it when I moved. I was thrilled to find it for sale on "EBAY". Anyone who listens to Queensryche already knows how FANTASTIC this cd is. As for anyone who has not heard this cd, do yourself a favor, buy it.

I had this cd in my library for a long time. Until a person found that I would be better off without it, they broke into my car and liberated me from this absolutely perfect cd. The members of Queensryche are the prolific song writers that I have ever heard and this cd is the pinnicle of it. "Empire" is a close second, but for what it's worth if you want to hear what rock music is supposed to be, "Operation Mindcrime" is it.

This is it, one of the building blocks that made progressive metal what it is today. This is an amazing album that fires on all cylinders and never stops. I decided to order it since I'm a HUGE Dream Theater fan, I regret it none. Geoff Tate's vocals may be a turnoff to some, but that's hardly a complaint. 4.5/5 rounding up. A must-have for anyone who enjoys prog or art rock.
