  Superbly written!
Review created: 02/05/10

One thing that makes the book special is the fact that it is written in a present tense. This is a powerful move. Obviously it is not done without a reason. What I think, Andre wants us not only to feel the story better, but he also doesn't try to make it just the memoir of the past but rather shows what he actually thought in those particular moments of his life. It is written in a way that when it was the 70's you can hear the voice of a child, in the 80's the voice of teenager and later you hear the voice of mature adult. But still all the time you hear the voice of the same person, Andre.

very good book. whether you are a tennis fan or not, it is a very good read. andre goes into detail about what it is like to be forced by your parents. he explains how tennis was what he was good at doing and how he made a living playing it just like people have a job they may not love but still go to work everyday. this is an excellent book for anyone at any age. i read every word taking my time to feel what agassi was trying to say and understand the context. i have been an andre fan since i was a teenager. i based my style of tennis on his. people totally misunderstood why he dressed the way he did. he was looking for himself. i think we all can understand the challenges he faced. i will always be an andre agassi fan. reading this book just made me like him even more. i feel like i have an understanding of the true andre agassi.

This is an incredible book with so much insight into Andre's childhood, tennis career and inner demons. It's heartbreaking and inspiring at the same time. You thought you knew Andre, but once you read this book you'll be rethinking every tennis match you watched him play in the past. If you're a fan, this is a must read! Even if you're not, it's intriguing, genuine and a real page turner.

The title says it all: OPEN
Review created: 12/20/09

Excellent book with bonuses: autograph, picture of event, and special cd. Awesome price considering all these "EXTRAS"! The extras definitely caught my eye. At first i was just going to buy the book then I decided to buy the autographed book.
The book is Brand New in excellent condition. The cover/picture says a thousand words. Nice touch to open the front page and see Mr. Agassi's signature!

Extremely interesting to read that someone was #1 in the world (2 times) and hated the game of Tennis! In addition, the general public did not even realize this could be possible...

I have been wanting to buy OPEN by Andre Agassi as a gift for my wife...when I saw the book was autographed, I knew my wife would make her day!!

I am loving his book so far! Go Andre ;)

I love how open and honest he is about his tennis/personal journey. I grew up watching him and playing tennis myself, I was always impressed with how humble he was when interviewed. I was so pumped to get an autographed copy of his first edition/print...with a photo and ticket stub to commemorate it.

  Not Just Another Tennis Manual...
Review created: 11/20/09

When you read this book you will encounter parallels between what we all experience in life with that of what a high profile celebrity/athlete goes through without the exposure through the media/press. It is incredibly well written, so well written in fact that most will not credit Andre Agassi for his outstanding writing ability. His candor and articulation are that of a well seasoned writer which only add to the pure enjoyment of this book. This book truly is an autobiography and not just another self loathing tennis manual. Enjoy!
