I thoroughly enjoyed this book and was disappointed when I finished it in just a few hours. I believe most people can relate to each character in some way. We recognize ourselves in a similar action, reaction or intuitive moment that is troubling at times and reassuring in others. I could feel the disappointment of a 6 year old child, the deep regret of a son, the fierceness and heartbreak of a mother trying to protect her family and provide a "normal" life at the same time. And most especially the forgiveness that we strive to give and yearn to receive. Obviously I would recommend this book.

I have read all of Mitch Albom's books and this one is by far my favorite. It is a touching and sensitive account of a real-life experience. The protaganist is so unique in that he is full of faults yet lovable at the same time. The characters all have such depth and meaning. I would recommend this book as one of the best I have ever read (and I read at least one a week!)

Although I have not read the book yet, I have read his other two novels, "Tuesdays with Morrie" and "Five people you meet in heaven" both were excellent, as this one will be I'm sure.

I bought the audio CD of this book and very much enjoyed it. After listening to this CD or reading the book you will be inclined to mend any broken relationships in your life. We all have regrets or things we wish we had said to someone who has already passed away. This book makes you realize you don't want to miss the opportunity to apologize or thank someone or just to tell someone how much you love or appreciate them while you still have the chance.

A day we all wish we could get....

I am impressed and amazed at the writting style of Mitch Albom. He can have you in the present time in one paragraph and 50 years earlier in the next, without confusion. He has a way with bringing you right into the story, giving you the right information at the right time and making you feel like the story is yours. I have read all 3 of his "non-sports" related books, each one I finished the first time I picked them up. I even bought the audio books for my husband who travels for work and doesn't really care to read that much. He LOVED the stories and talked about them for days. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone and have no complaints whatsoever!
