Synopsis
The Duchess of Magnus is appalled when her hand in marriage is won in a card game by an American named Remington Knight--a man she's never even met. Determined not to become Remington's wife, the duchess manages to convince her timid cousin Eleanor de Lacy to impersonate her and step in as Remington's intended. The shy Eleanor finds herself drawn to the incredibly handsome Remington and her growing love for him gives her the strength to become a more confident woman. This game of deception might even turn into a love match--if only Remington didn't enter into it seeking revenge for the deaths of his father and sister, deaths he blames on the Duchess of Magnus.
