  Definitely not their best work
Review created: 02/23/09

Overall, One Hot Minute is a good album. However, it pales in comparison to it's too predecessors, Mother's Milk and Blood Sugar Sex Magik. This is the first album RHCP produced after hiring Dave Navarro as a guitarist. Personally, I love Navarro and Jane's Addiction, but he is not a good fit in this band. Slovac and Fruciante were certainly better fits in this band. You won't hate this album, but it certainly is not their best work.

dont get me wrong this cd is good. their is some really good tracks on it. but i must say this cd was very dissapointing. i thought dave navaro, great substitute for john frusciante. but thats all he was... just a substitute. so any hardcore john frusciante fans this is not what youre looking for. its a good cd but if this would have been the cd to make them famous it wouldn't have happened

  well worth
Review created: 11/19/08

what damn near all of the other albums lack is deepness on another level.
dave navarro brought that when he joined the band. this is an album that is not commonly found anymore and it still has a great ring to it like it did in 1995. the songs that were not singles "one hot minute", "pea", "transending" are just as great as some of the songs they write today. so you want a real chilli peppers album pick it up.

Not the best RHCP album, but still good
Review created: 09/03/08

I purchased this cd because I am a pretty big fan of the Red Hot Chili Peppers since Californication, and I wanted to get some of their older stuff. This album is a little different from the rest in my opinion and is the only one with guitarist Dave Navaro from Jane's Addiction. This came out after the RHCP's grammy winning album Blood Sugar Sex Magik, which was a tough act to follow. I don't feel that it lived up to the greatness of that album (which is probably my favorite). At this point in time, the band shifted their musical style to a degree and it seems as though they were not exactly comfortable with it. This album is still good, don't get me wrong. It's just that it is not quite on par with the rest of their albums in my opinion. Is One Hot Minute worth buying? I think so, especially if you are a true RHCP interested in the evolution of their musical style. I am quite happy to have it in my collection.

GREAT Chili Peppers cd-love the Dave Navarro influence on this disk-heavier guitars than you usually get with RHCP but still room on album for some o'dat funk we all know and love-the hardest of all their works-HIGHLY recommended

Thank you so much for having exactly what i needed for a quick gift for my boyfriend. Christmas can be such a tight time as far as finances are concerned but, Ebay and its sellers made my first time experience a worthwhile one. Thanks again!

What do you want from your music?
Review created: 04/03/07

This album is good in its own rite. This cd features Dave Navarro on guitar instead of John Frusciante. Navarro brought with him a metal/progressive rock guitar style to the band, which changed the style of the music overall. This album is good as a normal rock album, but as something that is in the Red Hot Chili Peppers anthology, it is somewhat out of place.
However, there are several quality tracks on this album which have the heart and soul of the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Despite this, they will now no longer play any songs off of this album in concert. On stage, this album is generally denied.
As previously stated, there are quality tracks on this album, but if you are looking for the classic Chili Peppers sound, you will be somewhat disappointed in sounds, not lyrical content. So it depends on what you want from the album on whether you will like this one or not.

i love this CD if u liked calfiornication then you'll def like this one. It gives u a clue as to where they got their idea for calfiornication from. Missing this CD in your RHCP collection is like missing the first book to a series- ex. harry potter and the sorcer's stone.

Fantastic record. Love all of their stuff. Its basicly the dark side of BSSM. Dave Navarro does not fit the chilis style as well as Frusciante.

This album, "One Hot Minute" by the Red Hot Chili Peppers from 1995 is a good job - but it is not like their current music. It is more hardcore than their recent albums. Check it out with an open mind.
