Whether or not you like a book depends a lot of WHEN you are listening and why. For me, I listen to books while I am driving as I am always too tired when I go to bed and would never stop during the day to read. It's a wonderful way to go places in your vehicle and not be bored in traffic. I have not finished this book, but am enjoying every minute of it. I agree with previous reviewers that it does get very 'adjective' oriented... he describes everything in detail... BUT you have to realize that that description is what brings the characters & the story alive. I recently listened to Conspiracy Theory... That book was 2 cassettes and left out much of the detail, and I found myself wishing it were not so short... I felt the story was too short... so to each his own. When they are finished - you have to get another book anyway so why hurry? I love the characters - Mickey, Lei Lonnie, Curtis, Pup, and Noah... The entire story is well put together and keeps you thinking thinking ..thinking... If you can handle SciFi - you'll love it. I wouldn't miss one of Koontz's books.
