The Once and Future King by T.H. White (1987, Paperback, Reissue)

The ad said that this book was in good condition. There is writing in the front cover and the front and back covers are all bent up and not in good condition. I will not buy again from this seller because I think I paid too much for this book and its condition.

I read this book vivaciousy twenty-five years ago, rarely putting it down. I think it's great-- new story with love, honor, justice and evil. No happy ending here, but it sounds plausible no matter what period of history it is applied in.

My wife read it as a very devoted Harry Potter fan, after I suggested that magic in England could have roots only through Merlin and the Knights of the Round Table. She read it quickly, and found some agreements in that statement, but honestly found the ending to be much too depressing to let the book be an enjoyable piece of literature.

I'm not finish reading the book, but so far. . . excellent. Would recommend it to anyone. I really enjoy the time period in which the book takes place and the characters.
