Once Upon a Potty - For Him (VHS, 2001)

I got the tape at a yard sale and thought i would try it out, what could it hurt right? THe catchy song makes it fun altho the graphics are a little dated. It is not interactive for them, and give a lot more info then i had intended. ( we just dont need a 3 yr old saying penis all the time) lol. My son seems to watch the movie altho it is kinds descriptive. We still use "baby" words, like pee pee and poo poo and the movie uses some of those. It's an ok movie but i dont think it is for when you are just begining, I think it would be good for those children who need a little more info.

I bought this video because I had the book when my now 15 yr. old was a toddler and it really seemed to help him. As my now 3 yr. old was also proving hard (or just hard-headed) to potty train, I was looking for the book, but could not find it in local stores. I like the approach this author takes because it is very straight forward, and no non-sense. I fully believe my 3 yr. old knew that he should be going to the potty but he just didn't see any need in it when he could just keep doing whatever it was that he was doing and then let someone change him. This video explains that as a baby, before Joshua could walk or talk someone changed him and cared completely for him, but now that he was older it was time for him to start using the potty. My 3 yr. old is now going to Mother's Day Out in "big boy pants" without having any accidents. (This video does use the correct anatomical name for male genitalia one time, but that would not be enough to keep me from recommending it or using it again. It is such a wonderful video and explains things so well that it is worth the investment. A lot cheaper than continuing to buy pull-ups or diapers.)

The cartoon is a little outdated, not high tech like the new stuff. It does get the message across. My son actually has requested to watch it! However, we are still having potty training problems. :( So...for what it's worth a good video to introduce the potty...but still kids are gonna go when they want to go. And that's all there is to it!

I really liked this video. I bought it for my 2 year old son. The message is presented in a clear yet entertaining manner. The characters are very cute. And the "Potty" song is catchy. After just one viewing my son was singing the song ! I also appreciate that they actually addressed body parts and bodily functions. Some videos & books a rather vague. But this animation was detailed yet not overly graphic. Just perfect for the toddler brain to comprehend. Overall a big thumbs up !

My grandson loved this movie, especially because his name is Joshua and the boy in the video, is Joshua. Not so sure it worked, but we are trying hard to potty train him. I would say it was worth buying it. If nothing more he was quiet for an hour.

i bought this potty time for boys for my grandson, and he loves loves loves it. we watch it over and over. seller had the vidio to me in 3 days. Thank you until now we have had no luck, but since we got the vidio we have had 3 days with no accidents.

LOVE IT! THE MOST IMPORTANT THING IS THAT MY SON LOVES IT!!!! NEEDED HELP WITH THE TRAINING PROCESS.LETS HOPE IT WORKS.

We had tried everything to train our 3 year old grandson, nothing worked. I figured it was a last resort, I had heard it was good, but never had any trouble with my own children. It worked my grandson watches it over and over and is out of pull-ups during the day, with no accidents since we purchased it. I now give it as a gift at any baby shower I go to. It is a little a little more detailed than what I would have explained, but kids understand it. I can't say enough good things about it. Thank you
