On and On by Jack Johnson (CD, May-2003, Universal Records USA)

I like all of Jack Johnsons work. At one point I said his first CD (Brushfire fairytales) was by far his best stuff because it was the original JJ. But then as you absorb the music over and over again you appreciate all of his work the same.

I recommend buying all of his stuff and putting it on one big playlist. His music blends so well together that its hard to tell which albums that a song came from.

He sings about social change, injustice, ignorances and life ALL while making great music and lyrics that really touch the soul. He may not be singing about what you think he is, but he really hits the emotional rollercoaster right on the button.

I like this CD and would recommend it to anyone, but I think his work gets better as he goes on. I would rate this a 8.5 or 9 out of 10.

Not many modern singer/songwriters actually have the talent to present social commentary in a meaningful and beautiful way. This record proves the prowess of one Jack Johnson as a singer/songwriter and as a force for positive change, one to be reckoned with in these modern times. A hopeful album that will make you dance and sing along and then all of the sudden you're in love. The musical imagery is everything beautiful, the message is valuable to all people in this world, and the voice is something else. Solid and resonant and dreamy. Ladies start your engines, gentlemen sing along and win her heart back from Jack if you really dig her, because if you let her go, she'll be his forever. If you're considering buying a Jack Johnson album because someone you know said you'd like him, this is the one. They are all great, but On and On is an introduction you'll never forget. It is superbly mixed, excellently performed, and cohesive, as together as a masterwork ought to be. I haven't heard a single person in the entire world give On and On a negive review. Every once in a while everybody gets everything right. Don't let me oversell it, I am passionate about the things I love, and I love Jack Johnson's On and On. You will to. Go buy it!

great easy listening good for riding with the lady and morning coffee. songs on album flow together like that should you listen to the albun not just skip thru songs

I can't say enough good things about this CD! Jack Johnson has the most easy going, feel good music that I have ever heard. It's perfect to listen to everyday, you don't get sick of it, it's not repetitive... It could very well be the best music on the planet.

I would highly recommend this CD to everyone!

This was the first Jack Johnson CD that I ever head and it is why I am hooked. You can feel the emotion Jack Johnson puts into his songs and the ones inspired by actual events are even more captivating because of the lyrics and emotions tied to them.

very good music. typical jack johnson, makes you wanna hit the beach. laid-back, bluesy/folk sounding rock songs with positive messages.

This is a good CD for a really good price. I decided to buy it because it is my daughters favorite music while driving in the car.

Jack Johnson's music is just really cool music to chill out to. Nothing too heavy. Always fun and relaxing. Makes you think of being on vacation or Summer time hanging out with friends at the beach drinking something ice cold....

I am almost sixty years old, but still listening to music. My daughter got me a Jack Johnson tape(she calls it stoner music)for Christmas and after listening to it I knew I had to get another. Seen the CD on ebay (buy it now) so I purchased it. Sounds a little like Jamaican music but milder. It makes you bob up and down and puts a smile on your face. I recommend the music of Jack Johnson to everyone, regardless of age.
