"On Writing" by Stephen King is one of the best writing guides in the entire field of writing guides (which is an amazingly growing field - over 50 titles already, not counting the Writer's Markets book).
A recommended must-read novel for any future writer or teacher or educator. A classic in it's field.

This book is one of the most entertaining books on writing. You will laugh, think and realize just what it takes to be a writer. King's memoirs will give you a history of the person who has reached an amazing status in the literary world. A level that gives each of us a new goal to attain.
While we will never be Stephen King, he does tell you honestly, perhaps even ruthlessly, what it takes to be a writer. While only about half the book tackles the issue of writing it is with the most valuable information you will ever get.
If you want to be a writer don't just buy the book. Don't just read it and put it down. Devour the book and do what King tells you to do. Then you will be on the road to being a great writer.

My high school sophomore granddaughter asked me for the book and she LOVES it. Morgan is a above average very happy student planning to be a teacher herself. King is a favorite writer of hers.
