On Writing by Stephen King (2001, Paperback, Reprint)

I liked this book because the author gives unusual insight about what goes on in a writer's mind while writing a novel. It's different. I bought it because it was written by Stephen King. Even though I don't particularly like his type of stories, he is still a very successful writer. I expected to learn a few things about the writing process, which i did.

Anyone who is a fan of Stephen King will love the memoir part of this book. Anyone who wants clear cut advice for writing will love this book. If you are both like I am you are guranteed to love this book! Informative and smart without being cocky or patronizing, Stephen King shows why and how he is a master of the craft.

Have you ever heard of an instruction manual that you can't put down? Stephen King's book on writing "reads like a thriller". Added bonus: you learn as you read! I care for neither fiction nor horror, but I am fan of this book.

The author is really straight forward in the book, and tells you exactly how it is on writing. Really helpful.

I've read this book a couple of times, listened to the audiobook version, and I still gain more knowledge each time. This is an excellent reference book for all writers! King uses stories from his past, as well as his personal experiences, telling how he became the writer he is today. I found his battle with drugs and alcohol and his 1999 accident moving and inspiring.
