Excelent Mario Puzo crime novel. A real page turner. Highly recomended. Good story line. Excelent character development.

) The title alone says it all. This book is a great read although, The Sicilian , by Puzo is my all time favorite. Still a good story for all the Godfather fans. The Family is also one of Puzo's best with alittle help from Carol Gino. I guess pretty much anything from Mario is going to be great...I bought this on audio cd book just for those times when reading isn't an option or for when you want to share the story with someone else..

Puzo usually wrote excellent, action-packed fascinating text about the Mafia, the men who ran it, and the women who loved them. His character development was superb, and we lived with his creations, wincing at the brutality, cheering at the love, and fascinated by the world Puzo wrote so well.
Not this time. The characters don't come alive in Omerta. The story line drags and motives just don't leap out. I don't know if this was Puzo's last book, but it might as well have been. It just wasn't a very good book.
