I hunted for this movie for years to replace an older one.Thanks to EBay I now have a dvd copy of this excellent movie.This movie has always held my interest because it could really happen.I'm a big fan of this type of film.I also bought the original "last man on Earth" on EBay.Excellent quality and fast service on both purchases.Thank you ebay for the service.

I've always liked this movie from the first time that I saw it as a child. Great movie if you grew up in the '70s.

I would have loved this more, but I was sent a bad copy on dvd and could not stand to watch it with all the problems the disc had.

Based on I Am Legend by Richard Matheson, Omega Man is about a man fighting to survive against a race of mutant humans. In the book they are vampire-like, in the movie they are a bit zombie and a lot religious fanatic.

The basic story is great - read the novella if you enjoy horror fiction, it is a true classic - but the execution is dated and badly acted.

The special effects are horrible, not just for their day since other films had had more realistic make-up and blood way before this movie came out. I am not a fan of Charlton Heston - I really think the man could not act his way out of a paper bag - and I am sure he has done decent work on other roles, probably just one and built a career out of that one performance. In this movie he is stiff and condescending, and half the movie he is without a shirt - PUT ON A SHIRT MR HESTON! It's like watching Will Ferrel w/o a shirt - yikes!
The stereotypes run rampant, there is a Foxy Brown wannabe and an Easy Rider reject.

Watch it on a Saturday afternoon when there is nothing else on but I really recommend the book, it is terrifying!

Good movie. Better than newest remake. Done when acting was more important than special effects. Problem is we are use to the new CGI effects so some of the things look hokey. Still highly recommended.

A great version of a good book. Charleton Heston is awesome as is his sexy co-star. I like this version better than I Am Legend, even though both are based on the same book.

If you saw the Legend, this would pass for an older version for the remake. Very watchable even for todays special effects.

I love this movie, have for years the recent remake of Legend by Will Smith can't touch the drama and suspence of the Original by Charleton Heston. What Omega Man did with charactor development and story telling, Legend replaced with scary monsters and blood and guts. Ok, if you like that sort of thing, I prefer something with a little more depth.

The Omega Man - new version of this movie is I am Legend. Check it out! I like the movie, seen it years ago, I have a vcr tape of it, updating my dvd collection.
