Zuiko lens line lives on.
I began using the Olympus Om cameras when they debuted in the early 70's,employing them for professional work for over 20 years. I recently began using my old OM-1 again after a long hiatus from photography. The Vivitar zooms I have are OK for snapshots, but lack the contrast and sharpness of prime lenses. This purchase on eBay was actually a 28mm F:3.5. When the OM line debuted, this lens ,along with the 135mm F:3.5 was offered as economy lenses to compliment the 50mm sold with the OM-1. In practice, the 28/3.5 delivers excellent performance overall and is very compact as well. I once had a Zuiko 28 F2 which was excellent-these now command premium prices. In most cases, the F3.5 is fast enough. I shoot at a lot of blues and jazz sessions in dim light. A little bounce flash and 800 ISO film makes up for the F;3.5 opening. This lens is a bargain and is not hard to find.
