Olympus Stylus 710 7.1 Megapixel

This is a great little Camera for the price once again it is a 7.1 MP camera giving the digital zoom a little functionality as well as having a little bit of optical zoom capability.

It is a weather proof camera not to be confused with a waterproof camera, I have had no issues with water damage, I have dropped it in saltwater when powered on and taken pictures in the rain, not something I would recomend with a $1000 SLR camera.

Other great features are the full functionality of ISO adjustment and other settings you like to see in a more expensive camera. all in all the advanced features are easy to use but not too advanced, making it a great point and shoot camera.
one huge drawback for the point and shoot photographer is that it does not record in a windows media format when doing a video clip it records in quick time format and then needs to be reformatted to record it to a disc.

The huge view screen is great but can use the batteries quickly when using it to review shots.

One big plus the batteries, lasting literally hundreds of shots and an extra is affordable lion batteries unlike other slim cameras the replacement batteries can be had for about $12-18USD as an aftermarket brand. I bought 2 and charge one use and and save 1 for backup.

the memory card is a XD so a 1gig is the biggest currently available but a spare Fuji brand card can be had for under $40 on sale at Best Buy with an instant rebate.

Finally when transferring pictures to your PC use a USB 2.0 Card reader, 50X faster than using the camera and 10X faster than using an internal card reader also reducing the chance for a transfer error. never transfer from your camera to your PC thats why the memory card is removable. the transfer cable required is a USB Mini not cheap either (about $40) a card reader is $15-20

Love the camera, works great in all weather and battery life is decent. I decided to buy the Olympus Stylus 710 because it was the best deal for a camera with 7.1 megapixel. It's slim and has a comfortable grip for perfect shooting. There are alot of great features and types of shot. I give the camera a five out of five rating.

Its a great little compact camera on the go. Slips right into trouser pocket without bulging, and is ready for point and shoot relatively quickly. Great still pictures and video. No real flaws, I probably could have easily rated this one excellent, but I haven't taken it to the beach, or to sports activity at this point. Mainly to the zoo, a couple graduations and family cookout, where it performed great.

Received product quickly. Item as described online. Packaged very well so as to avoid breakage as I did not purchase insurance.

This camera was bought in need of LCD replacement.It was a fairly easy repair, although some repairs on these cameras are quite tricky. Camera works very well now. I Love the picture & zoom qualities. Although it is sort of annoying that you have to manually turn on the digital zoom. Love the shape and looks of camera. Nice and compact also. Also like how you can record sound with your pictures, real cool. Overall very pleasing Olympus 710 all-weather digital camera.

I bought a 7MP Olympus 710 camera to replace my damaged Olympus 3020. What a GREAT little camera that easily fits in your pocket for quick pictures or video anywhere, anytime. I especially like the fact THIS model includes sound when recording video although the video quality is not so great. One feature my old camera had was to zoom while video taping but I'll take sound over that feature any day. Pictures are really good quality but I must say my old camera tended to take sharper, clearer pictures even though it was only 3.2 MP.

Still for under $60 a great deal. I really like the camera and video tape my kids little league games every time.

Great little camera to keep in your pocket for that once in a life-time picture. Good picture quality from a small size camera.

It's a nice camera and quite cheap. Battery doesn't last too much but mine brought two. The pictures are very well too. I would buy this camera again as soon as it keeps or lows the price.

I am new to photography and plan on using this on my sea kayak trips. This is mt second 710, as the first is taking swimming lessons in the Pacific off the coast of Santa Cruz, CA. This is a compact camera that is great for shooting anything, lots of selections, good clearity and easy to pack away. I use a strap on my camera dry bag now.

This is a wonderful, easy to use small camera-This is my second one-1st was stolen. Wanted the same one again!

I got some milk on my good Olympus camera and it needed servicing, so I wanted something with high resolution, but not too costly in the meantime. Well, this little thing is the bomb. VERY user friendly and great pix.

Like the size and ease of use. I needed a replacement because my other one went in the washing machine in my cover-alls pocker. They're weather proof, but not water/washing machine proof.

I like the camera it works great takes pictures faster then my other camera and it is smaller. the ease of use is great if you have any problem just use the menus it has to take the type of picture you want and the fact that it comes with its own rechargable battery instead of buying batteries is great save hundreds alone that way just by not have to buy batteries also can take 500+ pictures on high quality with a 1 GB memory card.

I really like the camera and the fact that is was refurbished only made it a better bargain. I use it a lot and have had no issues. I love all of the different scene modes you can use and the practicality of the size of it is wonderful! I have a bigger digital camera as well for my hobby photo shoots, but I love being able to carry this point and click around with ease. The turbo processor helps for you to be able to capture more of the moments, especially with fast moving subjects such as kids and pets.
The only thing I have noticed is the picture quality isn't as great as my Sony Cybershot, even not using the digital zoom on either camera. The Sony Cybershot is only 6 megapixels so I was curious to see how the Olympus compared with the additional megapixel. I recommend the bulkier, bigger Cybershot (it has 15X digital zoom) for clarity and still shot reasons, but I do still love my Olympus and would recommend it! It is easy to use and figure out so it makes a good camera for all potential photographers.

I love this product because its so easy to use, its very user friendly. The pictures come out so clear.

Ease of use...Fantastic photos! I have one already and bought another for may daughter. Then, my Mom wanted one, so we now have three. This camera is easy to download photos. It is great for a novice. I do especially love the size of the viewing screen. It helps you when you need to decide whether to delete a photo or not. It allows you to really see detail up close before deciding to delete a photo.

Well, if you want a good little camera for a good little price...this is the camera for you. I am happy with my purchase because I did not want to spend a bundle for a decent camera. It has a good size screen to view your pictures and the 7.1 megapixels are good too. I am somewhat surprised it didn't come with some kind of carrying case but, then again it was a good price so what do you expect? Overall for a mom taking family pictures etc...good buy!!!

This is the second one of these I have bought. Easy to use, battery life is good and it feels good in your hand. Put a 1 gig card in it and snap pictures for a long long time. Be sure and use it with the setting for using it in your hands or it will take blurry pictures since you are not standing completely still when you have it in your hands. I haven't used the video recorder, probably won't ever so I don't know much about that. The screens are easy to get thru and setup the camera the way you want it to be setup for your use. I like this camera and I think it will be a good investment for quite a while. The small pocket size makes it great to take along. Buy a screen protector for the lcd and your in business. It is a little harder to see the lcd screen in the daylight...but I expect that....I would buy another one no problem. I have owned 5 different Olympus cameras over the years.....never had a bad one in my opinion and my kids have had other kinds (kodak, etc.) they don't compare.

The reason why I picked this particular one was becasue of the good reputation of the brand. I don't own one of your products so I can realy tell much about it.

I bought this camera specifically because it claimed to be weatherproof. A light drizzle made it act up and eventually quit working at all. Must have a steady hand as well to avoid blurry pictures in all but the "steady" mode.

The camera is small , fits in the hand easily, site weight, operates very smoothly, and takes excellent pictures, is very responsive to lite.
I am very happy with purchase so far.

I thought the Stylus 710 was a great little camera. Granted I am not an expert fotographer, but I am a scuba diver and love to take underwater pictures. The highlights of the the 710 are the size of the screen, the light-weight, all-weather body, and the variety of shooting modes. There are a couple of underwater settings, but I didn't find them very effective. The main disadvantage that I discovered was that when you change a shot mode, the camera never remembered the setting. So when I changed from, say under water mode to video and back to underwater mode, I had to scroll through whole menu to get back to underwater. A minor inconvenience, but when you are trying to capture things like fish, you can easily miss "the" shot.

Other wise I had no complaints. Good battery life, good video quality, good value. I would recommend it to anyone as an excellent entry-level camera.
