Olympus FL-50R TTL TTL Flash

Great light makes me want to toss the Fl36 in the trash recycle time is great. The off camera TTL works but I sure wish it was not line of sight or working off the flash.

It's a very good quality flash at highway robbery prices. But this is par for the course with Olympus accessories, which seem to always cost about 20-25% more than other major brands for the same functonality.

Having said that, it's also a very high quality piece of kit, as is all Olympus kit. If you are an Olympus shooter, it's your only decent choice (the FL-36R recharges too slowly for event shooting.. it's embarassing). Fortunately, as our only choice it's a sweet one.

One word of caution: you will hear people talking about how these flashes communicate by radio. No. There is NO radio. They communicate optically, with pulses of light. These pulses are as fast as the TTL pulse, so you probably won't notice them. But you MUST have your built in flash on you camera body raised in order to emit them and control the FL-50R wirelessly.

Good product. Powerfull and ready to use with Olympus SLR. If you use other flashlike tis or FL-36 R, they can comunicate by radio and shoot at the same time.
