Olympus E-520 with Customized Lens Kit 10.0 Megapixel

After owning a Canon Power Shot camera for four years, I was ready to move to the next level. I researched which DSLR camera I should purchase and the best reviews led me to the Olympus E520 camera. The ease of using this camera and the instructions on how to use it to get optimal results have turned me into an amateur photographer. I used this camera to photograph my first formal wedding. I took over 800 shots and only had to make some minor edits. This 10 megapixels camera is medium weight yet durable. I was able to take over 500 photographs without having to change the battery. The camera almost does all the work for you so you don’t have to make several adjustments. I use an 18-180mm lens and I’m able to take great macro and long distance pictures. I have an external flasher but unless the lighting is dim to dark, I haven’t had to use the flash much. This is the best camera out there for the money.

The E-520, like the rest of the Olympus EVolt series is a great value. The color reproduction, the dust removal system, the in-camera image stabilization, the ability to use other manufacturers' lenses are all terrific reasons to buy this camera. The only downside I've seen is it's performance in low-light situations. Anything shot above ISO 400 will be pretty noisy. So, if you plan on shooting indoor sports, or concerts - where there is a lot of movement in poor lighting - you will need to be creative to get the shots you want.

Very good, easy to use camera with friendly menus and good instruction manual. Lenses that come with it are not the greatest but adequate and easily upgradable. Love this camera. Would highly recommend.

I have owned Olympus 35mm cameras for over 30 years. I have owned and used motor drives and Zoom lenses. For the past 5 years I have used nothing but an Olympus digital pocket camera. I decided it was time to get a Digital SLR. After reading the specs on the Olympus E-520 I knew it was the camera for me. Now that I've been using it for nearly three weeks I'm convinced it is the finest and easiest camera I've every had. Programed exposure is great, the lenses are bright and clear and the camera itself is comfortable and easy to operate.

The camera is why beyond expectations; easy to use, and lightweight. The package over all is beyond expectations.

I love this camera. The images are clear, and it is easy to use. You can use it as a point and shoot, but you can still change anything about it and change the shutter speed and appurtures too. It's a perfect camera for a new professional. It is also great for someone just learning how to use a SLR.

I have only had this camera for about a month now and it is amazing. My first DSLR and already have friends framing photos that I have taken. The camera is relatively easy to use and the colors are great.

I LOST MY E-500, THE E-520 IS LIGHTER SEEMS VERY DURABLE, ITS EASY TO USE AND I GOT MORE FEATURES INCLUDING FACIAL RECOGNITION, AND LIVE VIEW.....
ITS ALOT OF BANG FOR THE BUCK.

I started DSLR photgraphy with an olympus e300 which I got excellent pics and not so good pics, but was short some features that the e520 has given me such as panoramic, bulb setting and image stabilization setting as I am getting older and I am getting a little shaky, using the lenses I had with the e300 and having better results than with the E300. Purchased the e520 with a 14-42mm lens and am disappointed in the lens in that it does not focus very well especially at the 14-25 mm range, would recommend this camera but not the lens, all the other olympus lens I have are of excellent quality and focus very well, but I am very particular about quality of the pics as I have been using 35mm film cameras for long before digital cameras became popular. I would have liked to have bought an E30 but the price of the E520 is so appealing especilly since I laid down almost $800.00 for the E300 and this was about half that. I definately think olympus is one of the best cameras for the money spent and is consumer friendly.

Still learning to use the E-520. It is my first DSLR so I can't compare to any other. I have always preferred more options to less. The E-520 certainly possesses options. The self-cleaning sensor is one of the features that are not available on many competitor cameras. However, that is sort of a behind-the-scenes thing that goes unnoticed. The live view is also a feature that many other models does not possess. While the features and options are vast, the adjustment and setting of these are quite intuitive. The photos are excellent using raw. The only con I have reservations with is the slightly smaller sensor. I have not noticed any instances where that has created problems and many experts feel that it is a benefit since greater zoom can be achieved. Overall the E-520 is a joy to use.

Everything arrived promptly and in great shape. the extras are not cheap like some crap you get from other vendors. Great quality and welcome, now I dont have to buy any of this stuff. Get the camera with the bundle, you won't be disappointed...saved me at least $150 when buying them seperatley...so happy!

This camera is excellent. My daughter has a much more expensive Nikon that seems about the same to me, a non-professional.

I am an amature in photography but wanted a quality camera for with the right price. I found it with the Olympus E-520. This camera takes great pictures. The package deal was just that, unbeatable.Evrything was as described. There was one catch, the charger for the camear batteries had a europian plug. Not a big deal I just used a compatable one I had at home. Overall a GREAT deal. Thank you for my E-520 and extras.
