Beloved old friend
It was my first DSLR (however, the europian named C-1400XL variant).
I really loved it so much - I bought it second hand around 2003, after our first digital soap-box and and our first 10X ultrazoom - and the picture quality was amazing. Much more crisp, which superb colours and handling over the family's UZ, we loved it. There are two main problems with it: the painfully slow AF in low light, you have to force it to make the picture, and the limitation of using high capacity memory cards. Most of these machines can only handle the 16MB SM cards - after the firmware upgrade you can also use 32MB ones too.
Today it's an iconic symbol of the birth of the digital age.
