Quaint, but incomplete and rather out of touch
I give this book a below average rating since I have been familiar with the different volumes for many years, as well as being an active 78 record collector for nearly 30 years. While Mr. Soderbergh's guides do contain some interesting biographical and historical information, it has been my experience that he omits MANY important artists, while including many that are marginal, at best, to a collector. In addition, I have found that the record values stated are vastly out of touch with the real world. If your tastes run toward the pop or even classical recordings, you may find it helpful (still--beware of those price quotes). Not much so if you're looking for jazz, blues, or early country though.
