  Okami is a must HAVE!

If you own a Wii don't hesitate to add this game to your collection. Yes this game did come out for PS2 and was amazing, but the Wii remote makes this game that much better.

For those that haven't played Okami, this game is like being inside one huge watercolor painting. The game is visually stunning. The game play is very fun and the rewards one receives keeps one wanting to play and advance.

Move Ammy (the dog character) around with the nunchuk and when when you approach enemies wave the remote to attack. When you learn more skills you can use your "paintbrush" to dish out damage. To do a paintbrush attack you simply hold down B and draw a bomb or make a slash (and many more) over the enemy taking them out much quicker.

This game is almost perfect. 9.8 !

  Fun, long game

I really like the play of the game. It is a good use of the wii-mote, though the strokes can be somewhat challenging at times. It's a fun adventure game and has a ton of play time. I thought I was finished with the game after 30 some hours but was caught up in another story. I'm now almost finished with the second but it's gotten difficult. It's great that it's a challenge, and even greater how much play time there appears to be. I've heard over 100 hrs. I won't get tired of it. I like that if you want to spend your time leveling up, it's very easy to do so. Just engage the many floating demon scrolls for fights. If you're questing after something, it's easy enough to avoid these. A lot of the mini games are not mini games at all and advance the story line, but are not as annoying as some of the Zelda mini games (like target practice). I'm somewhat in the middle as far as gamers go (not too hardcore, but not just a computer solitare player) so this game is good for me. HOwever, the hardcore gamer will probably have a ton of fun with it as well, especially if it's getting pretty hard for me so early.

Great Wii game, a must own!!

I can't say enough good things about this game. Okami is the most beautiful game that's ever been made, an opinion shared with major magazines when it was heralded as Game of the Year in 2006 (it was competing with Zelda: Twilight Princess and Gears of War for the title, and won). Now in 2008 and released for the Wii, still no game has surpassed the artwork in Okami. After you rescue the first sapling, you'll understand why. This game is an incredible work of art and imagination.

Okami was originally a PS2 title, but don't let that turn you off. It belongs on Wii. This had to have been made for the Wii, there's no other explanation. The brushstrokes, which are used for nearly every fight and obstacle, come so naturally to the wiimote, that it's impossible to remember how it was ever done with a gamepad.

In conclusion, for those new to the game, I would give my highest recommendation. For those who already caught it on the PS2, without any new content it's hard to justify the purchase just for the control change. At $40, this game is an absolute steal, good fun for almost anyone with a liking for adventures and epic stories. The learning curve is there, but not very steep, and the game holds your hand through all the initial stages. Various reviews have given it a 9+ out of 10, and I'd agree, it's definitely at least a 9.5. For $40, you're getting at least 40-50 hours of solid, brilliantly crafted gameplay, set in an immersive environment of colorful artwork and deep culture.

  Okami

After 60+ hours of playing and I have finally beaten this game. I wonder if they will make a sequil? I totally love this game! Here are some reasons why:
Pros:
First, it is based on Japanese mythology!
Second, the main character takes the form of a wolf!
Third, your strongest special attacks are painting!
fourth, How many video games let you play as the goddess of creation?
Also, unlike many wii games where you can win by just shaking your controler around like crazy, most of the attacks in Okami require timing.
Once you beat the game you can start over with all of you current items (except special quest items)

Cons: You can't swim, or fly.
(but later in the game you can walk on water! so I guess that is a pro.)

Sorry about any and all spelling errors

You will also like this one.
My kids enjoyed the Zelda games and this one is delightfully similar, but with classic Japanese folk tales in the back ground.
If you just look at the graphic of the cover, you'll not know how good this game is.
We bought this game because of the excellent game review received from several different game review site, no disappointment here.

Love the colors in this game! You basically become this white wolf and you navigate through different worlds as him. As he fights different battles and you discover different things, you are granted powers that will help you in the next level. There isnt much fighting so far which is good and lots to discover. I play it with my 5 year old and we have a great time together. :)
The story is explained in subtitles and that gets a bit old at times (esp since I'm having to read all of the aloud) but I guess you get used to that. I'd still recommend this game. Hasnt froze my Wii up either.

  Okami = Zelda Like Entertainment

As a fan of the Zelda series I was excited to see the PS2 port coming to the Wii. With an Adventure game you have your typical hero from nothing scenario and a system of learning new moves, acquiring weapons and buying stuff. Okami is no different, although your tools are different. You get to 'paint' with the wiimote, dodge with the nunchuk and more! Overall the game could look a little better, there is some old port feel to this game. But all in all I recommend this game for anyone who loves Zelda or similar games.

  Amazing Game!

To be honest i haven't played the Wii version, I bought it for a friend. But I’ve beaten the PS2 one and it is an incredible game!

The story line and characters are playful and interesting. The style of the game is beautiful and has a very Japanese story book feel to it. The game play is very fun, but it makes you think which gets you into the action. It reminds me of the Legend of Zelda games, traveling over vast areas, meeting many people and solving different problems.

I definitely recommend it.

  Best Wii Game
Review created: 09/10/09
by:

This is withought a doubt the best wii game on the market. It is very lengthy (I finished it with 350 hours of gameplay) and has a great story which is very unpredictable with lots of cutscenes. The main draw of this game is it has a paint brush interface which lets you draw lines that crate things and manipulate the elements. It is challenging, but not so hard that you get stuck all the time. The boss fights are challenging since each one has some weakness you have to take advantage of. You take controll of the celestial god of the sun, Okami Ameratsu, a reincarnation of Shiranu who vanquished the mighty Orochi 100 years ago but died shortly after. In the form of a wolf, you run around restoring order to the world with a pongle named Issun (an inch high race of people like things said to be envoys of the gods.) You will meet many interesting charaters in your journey. You will travel through time, you will shrink yourself down to the size of a bug, and much much more. This is a great game which every wii owner should have.

  Great Art, Amazing Game
Review created: 08/20/09

I love the game, its very addicting. Sometimes its not clear as to what you are supposed to do, but thats the fun of it. Its a role-playing adventure game. As the quest goes on, the game gets harder. The story and characters are very original, and I read that many of the stories in the game are actually real stories. Very fun to play, I completely recommend it.

I've been trying to find this game for what seems like forever. I read about it when it first came out and I had a difficult time finding one until i discovered eBay. Now that I have it and played it I can say this is one of my top favorite games. I love all of the characters and the graphics are really cool. It's like combining Japanese legends, the art of Chinese calligraphy, the Chinese Zodiac all in one awesome video game. I'm sure any Zelda fan like me will love this game.

I've been eyeing this game for many months now, but I never really made any efforts towards buying it. When I looked for it in stores, it had been discontinued. I looked on Ebay, and here it was at even better prices than the retail! The disc is perfect quality, and the game itself is well worth the wait in the mail. Again, many thanks for providing this!

Especially if you like adventure games like Zelda...
Review created: 07/13/09

First, a caveat, I'm an adventure/RPG geek and I love a lot of games in that genre. This game falls squarely into those categories and excels on numerous levels...intricate plot, interesting characters, good action, innovative character development and control schemes, and unique but very cool cell-shaded graphics. This entire game was definitely created by some outside the box folks that still had a good grip on what makes a game fun. It holds to a very ancient eastern artistic feel but avoids the somber/overly reverent cloud that can sometimes make a story feel to weighty. Like I put in the title, if you like the games starring our wayward elven friend, Link, you'll likely love this game. I will say that overall, the graphics are not as cool as something you could pick up on the PS3 or 360 nowadays, but what game on the Wii is up to that considering its inferior capabilities in that realm|? As far as the Wii goes, this may be as good as it gets, and thanks to the superior work on the cell-shading, you'll never sit and wonder how this could have been done better if there was a faster processor on your machine. It's a fun, immersive, adventure experience from start to end.

takes 10 minutes to setup. Simply follow the steps below. I promise you,
this is 100% real. I will answer you on any question! Here is what you
do. Click on the link below, register, pick an account type (referral is
the easiest) and complete just 1 offer (Very important that you complete
the 1 offer otherwise your account will sit in limbo until you do). This
is not like other sites where you need to complete one offer on 2 or 3
different pages!!! And a lot of these offers are FREE trials with
nothing else to buy...No commitments!!!

There are plenty of cool offers to choose from such as Blockbuster
online, Stamp.com, Netflix, Gamefly which are services you would
regularly sign up for anyways and their all secure networks, why not use
them to get a free PS3 System or cash (I did the Stamps.com for a 30 day
free trial and it never cost me a penny and I received credit for it the
same day). Look at the offers and choose the one that works for you.
After signing up and completing your one offer, simply refer 8-13 people
(depending on the FREE prize you choose) to do the same under your link
(just post the same thing as I have on eBay, and you'll get your
referrals before the auction even ends.)

Then they will ship your PS3 System or your selected item for free, I
chose the PS3 80gb System. No Joke, 100% REAL!!! The reason these
companies make money, is because most people don't bother getting all
the referrals. All you have to do is post it ! They use us as
advertisement by word of mouth which saves them tons of money which goes
toward yours and my free gift. These are legit companies such as

  Okami Wii Version
Review created: 06/07/09
by:

I bought this game after a play through on the original Play Station 2 version.

Once you get used to the game controls of the wii, the game is fun. The story line is the same as the PS2 version, so no hidden surprises. I'm the type of person who (if I've really enjoyed a game), adore a second play through. And having to relearn the controls with the wii remote was a bit challenging at first, not as easy as the PS2 controls.

The only real nitpick I have with this is that there are no credits at the end of the game (due to legal reasons, from what I've read online with the closing of Clover studios). And a game with no credits generally bums me out at the end. I also experienced some glitches in the Wii version that I did not experience in the PS2 (namely, Ammy's head disappearing after battles....crossing over town/map borders usually fixed this, or a reboot at worse, it was rather annoying.)

In general, the game is terrific - the animation and backgrounds are absolute eye candy, and the story line is an attention keeper - as with any good adventure/role play, you can connect with the characters, and most main characters are memorable.
However, for those of you looking for a first play through, I'd suggest going with the original PS2 version instead of Wii, simply for the fact that it is the original with full credits at the end. However, if you don't own the PS2, go with the Wii version obviously - this game isn't worth missing out on, credits or not.
