Synopsis Frustrated because the pigs just lie around in the mud all day, the other animals on the farm try to make them improve themselves.
Piggies Thomas and Joseph enjoy being lazy and smelly, and eating whatever comes their way, but the other animals in the barnyard couldn’t agree less. Alarmed by the condition of the pair’s pen, the hens try and fail to share basic painting skills with the pigs, and end up doing the work themselves. The duck and the rabbit have equally bad success with the two porcine loafers. Then the animals realize that maybe the pigs are onto something, after all. With full-color illustrations.

Publisher's Note Not willing to heed the advice of their friends in the barn, lazy pigs Thomas and Joseph happily watch as the hens paint their pen, the ducks prepare them a bath, and the rabbits work to grow a garden for them in order to help the two live a cleaner and healthier life.
Industry Reviews "Palatini's pigs are a couple of cunning free-thinkers, and Cole paints them just right nothing cute here, only a pair of big Tom Sawyers quite comfortable in their own skins." (03/15/2006)
