It is very difficult if not imposible to collect all the state quarters in BU condition as they come out over such a long period of time. I have many state quarters in AU condition, taken out of circulation as they were produced. This purchase gives me all of them in one place at one time in BU condition. There was absolutely no down side to this purchase I am very pleased, and Mikes Coins is a pleasure to deal with.

Well, my future wife's grandmother asked for them for christmas and we looked everywhere and couldn't find them before Christmas so I ordered them for you. I imagine that everyone was happy.

  THE BEST US 50 STATE QUARTERS 100 HOLE FOLDER
Review created: 01/03/09

USING WHITMAN'S OFFICIAL U.S. MINT 50 STATE QUARTERS 100 HOLE FOLDER TO GET STARTED AS A NOVICE COLLECTOR - LIKE ME!!

My wife & I love to save change and quarters are the largest number of coins we seem to save. Being bored one day I decided to see what we currently had collected. I cleared the dining room table and dumped several hundred dollars of quarters on its surface. The sheer amount of coins almost changed my mind. Did I really want to look at and separate all these quarters? I decided to start and see if I had the patience.

I first separated them into two piles - Washington quarters and State quarters. That wasn't so bad so I decided to separate the State quarters by state and mint mark (P or D). This was time consuming and to tell the truth- boring! By now I had several hours invested in the process so I decided to persevere and push forward. I made piles of same quarters which took up half of our rather large table. Hours later I ended up with 100 piles of quarters - 50 states with 2 different mint marks. All coins were circulated so the value over their face was unknown to me. I never actually collected any particular series of coins nor have I ever looked up values of common coins. That is until this adventure!! The best I could do puts a full 100 uncirculated coin set at around $75. to $80., including the folder that I will shortly review. My set is circulated so anything over $25. face value will be a bonus. With all that background stated, here is my take on the folder.

I paid $3.00 for the folder, including shipping. The folder gives a nice history of the United States Quarter on the inside front cover. The inside back cover has a nice explanation of the 50 States Commemorative Coins Program Act. Each of the 50 states is featured on the two pages attached to the front cover. The information includes the date Statehood was granted, the size and population of each state. Included on the two pages attached to the rear cover is the map of the United States with each state highlighted in a color coordinated with the year the State quarter was released. It also includes the states name super-imposed over the year of issue under the map. The second rear page features a brief history on the US presidents from Washington to Bush 43.

The folder contains four sections. The first two sections are for the 50 coins with the "P" mint mark, and sections three & four are for the 50 states with the "D" mint mark.

This is the Official US Mint Complete 100 Hole Collector's Folder of the Complete Collection 1999-2008. The folder is well made and sturdy.This folder should last a lifetime with proper handling and care. The United States Mint folders are produced using acid free materials and will not harm your coins. Coins fit snugly in their respective hole. Once inserted in the hole they can be removed by pushing firmly, without excessive pressure, on the back of the coin you wish to dislodge. The outline of the coin is easily found on the covering of the folder.The texture of the folder's covering is very slick and almost feels like some sort of flexible plastic coating. The graphics and wording of done in good taste and all is easily read. The retail price sticker puts the price at $8.99,so purchasing the folder on eBay was a savings of $5.00 net!If you purchase Whitman folder,ISBN 0-79-480713-5,you will receive an enclosed offer to buy '08UScoin guide+Washington Quarter Folders&II for $5+$2.shipping.

FOLDER IS A++++

  Official U.S. Mint 50 State Quarter Folder
Review created: 02/03/08

I like this quarter folder because it has a nice picture of a bald eagle. I looked up this item on different sources but found out that eBay has the cheapest price. I decided to buy it to replace one that is falling apart. I recommend this item for state quarter collectors.
