The Official Price Guide to Collector Plates by Harry L. Rinker (1999)
A great book for anyone wishing to buy, sell or appraise their own collector plates. I originally found this book in a library and have since purchased it.
This book is one one of the easiest to look up a specific plate in which one is interested in. There is an artist index and a series index so if you have one of these you can quickly determine where the information for that specific plate may be. Everything is listed alphabetically beginning with the manufacturer or issuer of that plate and ending in the indexes at the back. Each plate has the original retail price along with the estimated value at the time of this book publishing.
Although there are not as many coloured plates as in some other books, there are still many photos included with some in colour. It is a soft cover book but that simply makes it more affordable and actually is easier to leaf through. In my opinion this book has more plates listed than any of the others with pages of coloured plates.
This book alone is all you really need for collecting plates but if a newer one is published I would definately recommend purchasing it since so many new plates are being released daily.
