Official Live: 101 Proof by Pantera (Metal) (CD, Jul-1997, EastWest America)

This is a decent cd. I love pantera but i am not crazy about this particular cd. It is just not the same as the studio versions. This live version gets almost annoying at times. I hate to say that about my favorite band, but its true.

I love this live album. I am a huge fan of Pantera and this album must be mine! Excellent sound quality and powerful show. Awesome!

Pantera has always been there for me. To me, it's more than music- it's a lifestyle. Pantera is the greatest band ever! When Dimebag passed, I cried as if I'd lost a brother, because I did. I never spoke a word to the man, but, in my heart and in my mind, I feel like we've knowed each other forever! LONG LIVE PANTERA AND LONG LIVE DIMEBAG DARELL ABBOTT!!!!!!!!!!

This is, as it states on the album cover, Pure against the grain American Heavy Metal. Every song performed has already been hailed as headbanging history, and live it's even more fast paced and over all heavier. And the two new recorded songs are a terrific added bonus.

Man, I wish they would release a Reinventing The Steel home video or a Pantera concert video.

Anyways, This is an excellent live album. The sound is really raw but it still sounds really clear and you can hear all of the instruments really well. (Drums,guitar,bass, and of course Phil's vokills.)
The only one complaint I have is that their is no Mouth For War!!!! WTF??!!!
Now that that is out of the way, the rest of the tracklisting is pretty awesome. I mean, yeah, their is always a few tracks that are missing from live albums but for the setlist that is on hear, it's actually pretty complete.
Phil's outspoken persona is evident on here but it actually kind of works.

All of the musicians are in top form and their live playing is just as good if not better than on the studio albums. Vinnie has always been one of my favorite drummers and his live drumming on here matches the cds perfectly. Rex holds together the bottom end with his thumping, deep bass lines that go prefectly with the music. And onto the master guitar player, you've gotta hear how he pulls off his solos and riffs live. Amazing and Breath-taking is one of the only ways to describe his performance.

I personally love live cds and this Pantera live cd just makes me want more live Pantera! Highly recommended!!!

I purchased it through ebay because it has been hard to find in the stores. It plays great and gives the listener the power of live metal. Raw and real. Highly recommended for any Pantera or Matal fan.
