WOW this is one giant book! I had a tough time deciding between a 4/5 & a 5/5 rating. I think it is a great book wich would be helpful for many, but quite truthfully it can almost be overwhelming, which is why I gave it a 4 instead of a 5. Jim Griffith was Ebays first customer support rep & is now the Dean of Ebay education. There is no doubt this guy knows his stuff. My dad purchased the book & he just gave it to me recently. He just dabbles from time to time purchasing football cards & the like. This was really too much information for him. I have been an Ebay seller for 6 years, so I knew quite a bit of the info already. The book advertises itself as being the How To Manual for everyone from first time users to eBay experts. I however believe The book would be most ideal I think for someone just starting out. Griffith covers all the bases for buying & selling. For buying you will find information on bidding, paying for your items, trust & safety. For selling you will find info on research, creating & editing photos, writing descriptions & more! The questions I see most often on the discussion boards are related to using HTML. Griffith has a whole chapter on using HTML for sellers, which I am sure many will find helpful. Rather than thinking you would read this book all the way thru I would use it as a reference book, look up what you need, when you need. This is the second edition revised book. With the number of changes Ebay makes on pretty regular basis, it would be near impossible to always have the book completely up to date. Book has 614 pages & many, many diagrams & graphics to aid in understanding. The book features some actual Ebay users & I thought it was curious that the user theblueox who was featured as someone who has made a successful career as an Ebay seller is no longer a registered user. Thta's not real good marketing! Overall a very useful book thought. Enjoy & happy buying & selling!
