Let me start by saying that I've always been a 2-ball guy with a pendulum swing. At least I thought I had a pendulum swing until I had my pro video tape my putting stroke - turns out I'm a gate swinger. I tried this putter at my Pro's suggestion. Here's my initial feelings:
1) I can't be mechanical with this putter. It works best when I get the brain quiet and let the subconscious stroke the ball to the hole. (stupid brain)
2) This putter must be released down the line. If I try the straight back and through swing I block it right every time.
3) The XG insert is very, very soft. This is great for those who play 2-piece distance balls as they'll all feel like Pro V1's coming off this face.
4) Said very soft insert makes it harder for me to control distance on long putts. I've left myself 6 ft. short and blown it 6 ft. past. Dunno about you, but that's asking a lot for the second putt......
5) The insert has a bit of a cross hatch texture which seems to get the ball rolling sooner than other Odyssey inserts. It appears to be Odyssey's response to Yes! and TM putters.
6) The poker chip ball marker is a bit tacky; it's about the size of a man hole cover. I can't let myself drop something so distracting down on the green But if you need to sink yours to halve the hole I might mark it inside 12" :-)
This is not a forgiving, high MOI putter. This is a throwback to the 1950's with a 21st century material inserted on the face. If you're a feel putter with a pretty good stroke it might be worth a look. All others need not apply.

I love this putter. I have been putting w/ a Taylor Made knockoff for over a year now and every put felt like I was hitting at rocks. I moved to a softer ball in order to get some feel, but without any luck.
Enter the White Hot XG 9 into my putting game and everything changes. The putter is not magic and it cannot make the ball go into the hole; that is up to you. But, the insert gives me all the feel I was lacking in my other putter. This putter is very responsive and the retro blade look is awesome.

I have demoed this club from a local golf store retailer and instantly loved the way it looked, felt, and played. The weight is perfect for me and really has a good MOI. My expectations were high because of the way everyone brags up the Odyssey putter. My expectations were met plus some. I look forward to getting to use the club more in the spring.

A heel shafted semi-mallet head putter design, allows full view of the golf ball at address. Alignment line is long enough to do some good, not like the short alignment lines on top of narrower blade putters. Just the right weight to provide 'feel' of the head and helps you utilize the larger back muscles during the stroke. The insert also enhances feels and sound when striking the ball. Works well with both soft and hard cover golf balls. Some will say the heel shafted putter is for golfers with a 'gate' type swing, open going back and closing the gate coming forward, moving off the intended line in both directions. I can swing this putter with either type of motion, either straight back and through or the open-square-close gate style. The non-glare finish also keep reflections to a minimum. Very well balanced, easy to swing and provides excellent feedback. Comes in a variety of lengths to suit all golfers. A popular putter. Just ask Phil!

probably the best feeling putter I've ever used. Length is perfect. Ball feels very smooth coming off the face. Good roll of the ball. Excellent look when standing over the ball. The alignment line helps keep ball on line.

This club has great balance, is easy to line-up, and the insert "feel" is very positive. I feel like I have to firmly contact the ball forcing a smooth acceleration and positive control down the line. Anybody that enjoys a mallet type head will be very satisfied with this putter. I switched from a center-shafted white hot #5. My line and speed are easier to maintain with the white hot xg #9.

I love how it feels when you hit a good putt. Very nice weighting on the #9. Mine came with a Golf Pride grip that I'm thinking of changing out for a Winn.
This is my first White Hot and it is a little tough to get used to how much oomph to put on a putt.
I do recommend this product.

The putter is weighted very well in the heel and and toe, which helps on off center puts. Do to the color (grey) with white alignment lines aming the putter is very easy, and the gray color prevents any glare in the sun. I purchased the putter because of the color ( hard to find ) and the balance in the heel and toe.

Odyssey White Hot XG 9 PutterI have played several rounds with the Odyssey White Hot XG 9 putter. It is a nice balanced putter. I have let several of my friends use the putter while we are playing golf and they like it as well. Odyssey putters are well made and you know they are going to last.

Odyssey Whit Hot Putter is White HotI purchased this putter because it's the same one Phil Mikelson uses. And, as soon as you hit putts with it, you know why Phil uses it. It has a great feel and you have more confidence looking down at the ball, because of the great profile the putter has. The white hot insert makes soft contact with the ball and helps with the overall "feel" you have with this club. It has definitely reduced strokes from my score and my buddies no longer make fun of my putting.

I wanted one of these for a long time but wouldn't pay the $125 retail for one. Got this one for about $60 and it came in fine.The putter is a good putter,with a soft feel to the face. I've used a bullseye for 35 years and with the new hard covered balls the balls will jump of the face. This insert corrected that problem.I just wish I could have afforded the black one like Phils'.

Nice putterPutter is a personal preference thing. This putter suits my eye, helps me keep the club low through the putt and has good feedback on putts. Overall a very good putter. My previous putter was a Ping Anser L which was good also. This is better.

Odyssey White Hot XG 9 Putter ReviewOdyssey produces great equipment and the XG 9 is no exception. The ball jumps off of the face and rolls smooth from start to finish which reduces the chances of getting off-line. The worst part of the putter is that when you miss a putt you can't blame the putter.

I was using a Nike Ignite mallet putter...I decided to go with the XG 9 because I wanted a mallet with a little less weight. I got what I wanted. The XG 9 is light weight and holds the ball on the line well. I will say that because of the weight it took a couple of rounds to figure out how I needed to stroke the ball. But once you reach that point, it's birdie city. Nice touch to the face and the ball comes off very smooth. I did have the grip switched out to one of the matching grip/head cover combos. That not only made the look sweet but the grip had a little more "friction" then the factory grip. I'm totally satisfied with the XG 9 and may be an Odyssey fan for life!!

This putter has a forgiving touch.
I have so much more confidence on the greens now, it feels so comfortable putting with this.
Highly recommended for any golfer regardless of their level.
Condition was 9/10 but there were no signs of wear and the price tags were still on it, an excellent buy and investment.

For me, the shape of the head and the sight-lines provide confidence in putting. The face insert is the correct hardness to provide good feedback through the head, shaft and grip so that I know when I've hit the sweetspot. I did regrip this putter when I bought it on ebay with a red, Scotty Cameron baby T grip, and lengthened the shaft by a little, and now this putter is my current favorite. The black line along the back edge of blade is perpendicular to the sight-line on the back part of the putter and they form a T that is quite helpful in lining up the putt. The putter has a nice head-weight and balance that makes for a great feel. I would recommend that you try this putter.
