Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath (Xbox, 2005)

This game challenges your platformer skills, your first person skills and you ability to apreciate art and beauty skills. THe story is the most touching oddworld story in my opinion and the character design is really good for the main character and enemies.

What else can I say there are twists and turns and shooting and learning. Stranger's Wrath will be forever a benchmark on a great game and unfortunately seems like it will be forever relegated to the bargain bin. This game sit's with Beyond Good & Evil and Psychonauts as a game that was great that didn't make much money. I wish it had had better marketing and better advertisement and I wish people weren't afraid of a little beauty.

This is a great video game! Great story, great graphics, and highly addictive. I recently purchased this game for a steal ($13.00) on eBay and I have to say I love it! I've been a fan of the Oddworld games for a long time, mostly for their great animation cut-scenes but thought the game play was poor, until they switched over to this first / third person shooter style video game... WOW!!! I hope they keep this format and bring back Abe!!!

This game also has great cut-scenes and a really good storyline with a plot twist that will drop your jaw!!! I could only dream that this game be made into a 3D Feature but it looks like I'll settle for the TMNT Feature coming out from WB in 2007.

Again, this game has great graphics, the creatures and environments look great. A little on the easy side (especially once you play it with the Cheat codes) but I can't seem to put it down. I've beaten it a few times now and I still love it!

I highly recommend this game for any first person shooter enthusiast as well as any one who like the third person style video games (i.e. Toom Raider). Not for little childer as the game does include some strong language and violence (the shreading machines are really gross and the sound efx are even worse!)

If you are looking for a game that offers beautiful graphics, superb gameplay, wonderful music, and a riveting storyline, then Oddworld Stranger's Wrath is for you. When my old xbox died I was considering buying an xbox 360 but when I heard that Stranger's Wrath is not compatible with the new system, I took my money and bought another regular xbox just so I could still play this gem.
You will love this game!

i decided to buy this game soley bc of the design and look of the overall game. the game itself is great and was worth the price.

I had played all the Oddworld creation games except for this one when it came out. I had my hands full playing other games on the xbox. I decided before I made the leap to the 360 this would be the last game I'd play since the first one, period, on the xbox was Munch's Oddessy. I have to say ALL the Oddworld games I have enjoyed. This one follows a bounty hunter trying to raise money for an operation of some kind but along the way you use live ammo to capture the bounties. Even though the style of gaming is not new (fps) the concept is and I also like the fast loading times. The only thing I wish that it had was live aware....thats it, cause the game is absolutely fun to play as all the others. I chose to buy it here cause it was brand new and for less than retail. The creator decided to step away for the Oddworld games due to low sales but I hope he returns one day soon to bring more great games from this truly odd universe.

I bought the game because I liked the way Oddworld Munch's Odyssey was produced. The environments, creatures and humor of the games really make them enjoyable to play, and this title keeps the tradition going. The crazy weapons and witty characters make the game fun in a gaming environment that is usually too serious. The only thing I didn't care for was the foul language. Not for myself, but because my 6 year old son loves to watch me play XBox, and he was really into Munch. This game, after getting him all hyped up, I can't let him watch because the language is a bit overboard for his ears, and mine, should his mother hear him repeating any of them.....

Great game play... the camera angles are a little hard to get used to. But it's a really great game all around!! The Characters are a blast, the different ammo is fun... Really a great game for any collection.

I'm a simple gamer. I'm an old fart and I am still playing X-box. I am on a mission to play every game made for the original X-box at least once. So I bought this game thinking it was kinda "strange" and it is. But it is still fun. Sometimes I get lost in the game and can't figure out what I need to do to get past a section. Then I just get on the computer and find a walk through and cheat my way past. If you are looking for a challenging game then I suggest this. But I am sure no one is reading this anyways.

I recieved this very fast. It was a great product. I appreciate the speed and the great deal. But this minimum of 100 characters is ridiculous there is not really that much to say about it.

I bought this game for the original Xbox system, and it was alot of fun. Shortly after we upgraded to the Xbox 360, and Microsoft has yet to update this game so I can still play it. This is a great game for Xbox, but it is not yet playable on the Xobx 360...

Almost every aspect of this game is amazing. To to start the gameplay is an interesting hybrid of 3rd person platforming and 1st person shooting action. The graphics are some of the best on the xbox. Basically go out and buy this game because it is one to play fo the ages.

Great innovative first person shooting game. Halo style combat with an odd twist on animated creatures. Game is for original Xbox. My husband actually requested this game specifically even though he has almost every new game out. He described this game as a classic. The main feature that he liked is the non-traditional weaponry. (Uses the assistance of "animal-like" creatures to lure and capture enemies. Some questionable language is used but is an overall light-hearted game.

Bought it because I am a long time Oddworld fan...and it was the only title I never had owned and played.

UPSIDE
Gameplay is fair, movie scenes good and some of character dialogue is hysterical!!! The use of "live ammunition" - original and creative! Gameplay itself is relatively unchallenging.

DOWNSIDE
I was hoping for some of the classic characters...Abe, Munch, maybe even Elum. Sadly, I was disappointed. The are only the tiniest of links between this storyline compared to previous and later titles to even refer to Oddworld!

If you want an inexpensive title and alot of laughs - pick this one up!

I bought the game because I couldn't find it in any stores.It's easy to play and the buttens are easy to use. The story is ok. A good game for kids.

I love this game. The makers of Oddworld games have done a great job with this one. Good setting ( Western style ). Great story line and easy to play. I recommend this game for everyone.

The game is great. We got it because it was an Odd World game. The Seller was really easy to work with and we got the game in no time.

First off, the back cover of the game explains it, by showing unique "Live" arsenal. It has hours of entertaining game play that will glue you to the screen. The graphics are great, and the game play runs smooth. Theres nothing really bad with the camera angles, except when you have to frequently switch from 1st person to 3rd person to capture one person while others are shooting at you. Halfway throughout the game there is a BIG plot twist that will stun you. It does get more difficult as you go on which is good, and it doesn't over emphasize it. There wasn't anything I didn't dislike about this one-of-a-kind game. I bought it because it was cheap, I was bored, and it had awesome reviews written about it. I suggest picking it up!

This is one of my favorite games as well as my childrens. Not to violent, language not to bad. Plot, Story Line and Graphics are great! Would recommend for anyone! Looking forward to another Oddworld!

Part first person shooter/part third person platform. Oddworld has another winner!

I enjoyed all of oddworlds games but hesitated to buy this one because it was a parting of the ways from Abe. Man am I glad I finally bought this game! The 'live' ammo is a fantastic twist and very much a part of the strategy in this game. They managed to retain the oddworld feel in this game also (which was very important to me)I originally thought that Stranger's Wrath would be geared for a more younger generation, I was wrong. This plays well and entertains adults too.

Stranger's Wrath has fairly good re-playability with me also. I've had a good time with this one and I highly reccomend it. Buy it. Play it. Then play it again!
