Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee (PlayStation, 1997)

The only thing that I don't like about the game is that you can't save it when your playing with the PS2 system. Otherwise it's a nice game to play.

I spent many hundreds of hours playing this game in my teens. I was ecstatic to find a copy!
It is a great role playing game, Abe ( a Mudokon) must save his fellow mudokons by helping them escape from the meat factory that they work in, run by rupture Farms. Abe has learned that the meat is now Mudokon!
He chants to put the enemy to sleep and speaks to his fellow Mudokons to help them escape.
Some violence, but overall a good game.

Abe's Oddysee is one of the best games I have ever played, and possibly the strangest. Most games feature a ripped hero with an arsenal of weapons and a devil may care attitude while Abe is armed with nothing but a loincloth and broken english. Your main goal as Abe is to escape with as many Mudokons as possible before you become Rupture Farms' newest export. The best part about this game is that there are no points to be earned. Either you make it out of Rupture Farms successfully or you die. Although the game's graphics are out of date, the compelling story line and quirky characters easily overshadow this one flaw. Abe's Oddysee is a fun way to spend your time and money.

Is one of the best Play station 1 Games ever and one the will be worth maybe a lot in the future and is a very good game

most awesome game I've encountered on ps2 other then Simpson s road rage. Characters are probably some of the ugliest, but have some of the best antics with their audio speech. it does have a T rating but I'm sure all would enjoy. i don't think there's anything or very little that i dislike about the game... it just has those clever little sayings that will be repeated many times over, as I'm sure everyone I know has heard them many times from me.

i had this game before and i scratched it and couldnt find a replacement so i signed up fir ebay and found the copy that i bid on and purchased it. really good copy plays well. im really satisfied with it.

I played this game with my father when it first came out, and the following sequels. Now its many years later - and I needed to play it all over again! Since my first Oddysee was for a PC, I needed to buy it for PS2.

Really is an awesome game. Lots of hidden levels, & you really want to look for them - because that huge status sign you'll see every once and awhile makes you sad [that is if you left behind your fellow Mudokons, or let them perish].

It is a really simple puzzle game. As in - if you jump in the wrong spot, you'll most likely die. I almost gave it a "Good" rating, because of that. But! Just get used to the movements & controls - and you'll be a pro in no time.

if you like platforming and/or thinking games this is definitely for you. You play as a "Mudokan" named Abe and you escape slavery from an evil company called Rupture Farms and now its your job to save as many Mudokans as you can along the way guiding them to portals using all sorts of different things to do it for example controlling the enemy by chanting, using bombs, leading enemies to their deaths, using the gamespeak system that allows you to talk and lead the mudokans to safety. The only downsides to this game is that it has a trial and error type gameplay which means if you dont know what to do the first time you will the second or third and so on because you will die in this game the other thing I dont like is the way the game is saved onto the memory card it wont overwrite an existing save instead it will create a brand new save and if your memory card is full you'll have to delete some of those save to make space but thankfully you can delete saves on the same menu. I gave this game an excellent because despite its minor flaws its just too fun with its humor, atmosphere, and gameplay.

I realy love to play the game.It realy is a cute little game.Abe gets into all kind of trouble and all kinds of spots but if your good enough you can get out .

Was hours of fun. would not save to any memory card but was a good game. Two player game which is always a plus in any household.

Shipping was slow, but everything else was fine. Now to reach 100 characters... just a little bit more... almost there...

I like the fact that it is very easy to play. My child and I really enjoy it. I did not like the fact that because it's an old game you can only save it on a PS One Memory card but I was able to get that with ease.

fun game controls can be confusing sometimesas i said the graphics were good and the storyline is good as wellif you want a fun game with a challange this is a good start

this is one of my favorite games on the ps1 and it is really fun to see the character abe get into traps and exploding towards the screen!!!

This title is for anyone who likes solving problems. As you progress through the game, you will be saving your fellow friends of sorts while avoiding PLENTY of obstacles, enemies, and puzzles. All the while trying to keep your friends safe..... Even though, while mean, it's sometimes funny to lead them to their demise. You will use dialogue through out the game to interact with the characters you save. Even though the game isn't based on combat, some situations call for the destruction of your enemies. You will not, however, be facing the majority of your enemies head on. You will usually be able to find clever means to dispose of your foes.

This is a great game over all. I would recommend it to anyone who wants a bit of a challenge and a brainteaser.

this game is hard and fun. i have an autistic son who will pull it out because he wants me to play it because it makes him laugh. it is ok if you have a ps2 but i play it on my ps3 and can't save it because it has a built in hard drive so if you plan on makeing it far on this game play it on a 2.

I got this game for myself, but everytime I want to play it my children have it. Loved this game on PC, just as I remembered.

lol this game is hilarious. It's just straight up fun! Brings me back to the old days of PS1. I highly recommend it!
