This is one of the best Dean Koontz books ever. Glad to know there are sequels, because I will definitely want to continue with this story.

Interesting story for any adult reader. There is action, adventure, horror and suspense. If you are a fan of fictional story telling, you will love this book.

  Odd Thomas

I liked this story; it had mystery, humor, pathos, a love story and suspense. Odd Thomas is odd indeed, he sees 'dead people' and other spirit incarnations. Quite an assortment of characters inhabit the town of Pico Mundo where Odd Thomas works as a fry cook. Because he has psychic abilities, he knows when something evil is afoot. Koontz is good at characterizations (along with Stephen King) which makes his stories always interesting. I like listening to audio books and this one was easy to follow without getting lost in a maze of characters. The only drawback is that the producer of the Koontz audio books never announces the Disk # at the beginning of each disk which would make me happy especially when fishing around for disks in a dark car while driving!

  Dean Koontz Does It Right!
Review created: 06/17/08

Love it! This audio book isn't your typical Dean Koontz "scary" novel. Witty and sometimes humorous despite the underlying drama, Odd Thomas is excellent! I sat on the edge of my seat waiting for the next chapter in this "odd" man's adventures.

And don't forget to check out the sequels to this audio book...Forever Odd and Brother Odd.

You won't be disappointed!

  Great read...

Although i liked this book. As with all Dean Koontz novels he is a great story teller. This book seemed not to keep my attention as if i couldnt wait for the story to end. It has a great hook at the end but for me this seemed more like stephen king (who i find dredfully boring at times) than Dean. Many other folks love this book beyond love it but compaired to others this one doesnt draw me to the rest of the series.
