Odd is still my hero, thank you Dean Koontz!

Dean says that Odd's story is a 'gift'...I am not sure that he entirely sees that it's not just a gift to HIM. For those of us out there in this world, trying to do the right thing, against overwhelming odds, (Hah!) carrying our own burdens of griefs, losses and betrayals...the Odd One's adventures are a breath of fresh air, and an infusion of strength and courage! This series is a triumph. I will grieve when it ends, as Koontz now assures us it will, but will hope that this author will be inspired in this way again, when he puts Odd away. I am a social worker, with 'spiritual gifts' and understand, to some extent, what this character struggles with, though not to his extreme. It never ceases to amaze me how Mr. Koontz 'gets it right' with characters like this. The motivations, the reactions, the myriad of tiny details that so many authors miss, or blow completely, he not only sees, but remains consistent with from start to finish. If someone allowed me lunch with one famous person in my lifetime, I would pick Mr. Koontz. His book, "The Face" to me was one of the most masterful books ever written....but Odd is as endearing to me as a brother. Thank you, Dean Koontz, for allowing this gift to flow through you to all of us that needed him...and thanks to your 'inspirer"!
