Owl City obviously appeals to a very specific demographic to which I probably do not belong. That having been said, I felt there was nothing special about Adam Young's sophomore effort, no "it" factor. Young sounds exactly like Death Cab for Cutie frontman Benjamin Gibbard -- I thought the single "Fireflies" was Death Cab's new tune -- and his lyrics are mostly nonsensical. Very few bands can get away with this trend and most (Bush, etc.) died with the 1990s. And, please, an entire song about going to the dentist? ::sigh::

Fans of Death Cab, Postal Service and Vampire Weekend will no doubt enjoy "Ocean Eyes." All others need not apply.

I purchased this CD, Ocean Eyes by Owl City, based entirely on the pop song FIREFLIES in hopes that the entire CD would be great. I was not disappointed, the CD is full of great songs. Adam Young has created a tasty little collection of catchy, fun songs. I hope he keeps up the great work and puts forth more work soon!
If you're a fan of Death Cab for Cutie or The Shins you'll probably like Owl City.

I saw it on ebay for a great price so I decided to pick it up........ I was not disappointed, its a great CD, I love it!

If you're looking for a happier version of the Postal Service look no further. If you're looking for something that is the equivalent of the Postal Service you will be disappointed. I have listened to this a couple times through trying to figure out what it is that is not working for me and I have concluded that it lacks melancholy. It's far too bright and happy for me. 2 1/2 Stars.

Fun and enjoyable to listen to, though there is a noticeable similarity in sound between many tracks that some my find repetitive.

This is a good cd to pop in the player and just enjoy. My 17 year old introduced me to it and i'm hooked!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I remember the first time I heard the big hit song on the cd: Fireflies. Great band! They are different but original. They also have many other great songs on the cd.
