Planning on traveling to Oahu. Book is easy to read and well laid out. You can use it as a reference book and not have to read all the way through. I like the photos of the hotels.

I own a guide book on the Big Island by the same author. It is geared towards presenting facts on lodging, restaurants, attractions, etc. that help you avoid the overpriced, highly advertised tourist draws. It also has recommendations on personal safety and using the bus system (one of the best in the nation) to avoid expensive and often unnecessary car rentals. Hotels charge as much as $25/day for parking in Waikiki. It has info on economical lodging alternatives that can save you a lot of money.
