O Brother, Where Art Thou? (2001, DVD)

If you're looking for a hilarious movie this is definitely one to add to your must-see list. This is the ONLY movie I've ever seen starring George Clooney where I truly enjoyed his character. Tim Blake Nelson is one of my favorite actors, he's one to watch and a sure fire Oscar winner some day. And John Turturro plays the part of a Southern redneck to a T, which is not bad for a nice Catholic boy from Brooklyn. There are side-splitting cameos by John Goodman and Charles Durning among others that add to the great comic relief of this movie. And the soundtrack is unbeatable. If you don't own the soundtrack I would recommend it just as much as the movie itself, and the two together would make a great gift.

This movie had some great bluegrass music if you like that type of music. It was quite comical at times and interesting in that it was supposed to have happened so many years ago.

A movie based on life as most of us experience it, less than what we planned. In the vein of all the ancient Greek drama/ comedies.

DVD arrived very quickly and was in fair shape. The box was a little grimy & the DVD had one part that skipped out. Overall satisfied with service and quality.

I mean George C. Can't go wrong there. I absolutely love the music and acting in this movie. I will watch it over and over until it calls for buying a new one. I will upgrade this movie to any media that comes along. Watch it you won't be disapointed. I'm hooked how bout you.

This is one of those movies that you have to stay til the end. I love this movie. Actually my entire household loves this movie. The acting is superb. I honestly do not know how this group of actors made it trhough most scenes without several takes.
This is just a good movie for the entire family.

I bought the DVD version to replace my worn out VHS. I have watched this movie many times over the years and never tire of it. It is a modernized loosely based re-telling of Homers "The Odyssey". Though totally fictitious, there are enough actual historical characters (or some that are simply based on real people)...Baby Face (George) Nelson which was based on the actual gangster, Tommy Johnson which was based on the actual blues prodigy Robert Johnson that purportedly sold his soul to the devil to obtain his talent. The governor character was loosely based on Huey P. Long. The main charcters played by George Clooney, John Turturo,and Tim Blake Nelson were all incredible. At first it seems that Clooney is over-acting and making the character seem cheesy...but the more you watch the more you realize it is intentional to show how over the top self absorbed and self serving the character really is. The slap stick Three Stooge like interaction between the three is a pleasant change from some of the dark comedy you see. This movie will appeal to everyone on some level...from the story line to the character development to the laugh out loud comedy to the moral dilemmas that resolve nicely in the end.
All this PLUS an incredible soundtrack make this a movie folks will watch over and over.

This has to be one of the funniest comedies I have seen in ages. It takes me back to when funny meant funny ha ha. I have seen this movie so many times I know it by heart, but never tire of it. Anyone who needs a laugh and some real entertainment needs to get this movie.
It may just make tomorrow a bit brighter

This show is one of the most Entertaining and absolutely humorous comedys. George Clooney is memorable in this one. THe acting is Great in the whole entire cast and the music is remarkable. THIS ONE IS A KEEPER. ITS a feel good movie.

A classic bit of Coen brothers comedy. Great script and cast, a very worthy effort, and a don't miss for all thinking adults.

George Clooney is wonderful eye Candy...but acting ability, well...you decide. Funny and sweet and moving all at the same time. His partners in crime were hilarious. I am a George Clooney Collector and this spoof film just adds to it.

No long explanation needed for this movie. The casting , quality of production and story are all EXCELLENT. This is a movie for anyone or a family to watch. Funny, amuzing and a keeper till I wear it out!!! Then I'll buy it again!!

I had been looking for this movie for a while. Glad I found it. New in package. This was part of a two DVD purchase that would receive a similar post. 'Folks' with Tom Selleck and Don Ameche. Very hard to find title and a great movie. I am very happy.

George Clooney is one of the best actors and he fit this role perfectly.The rest of the cast is also very good.I wish there were more movies made like this one.I have watched this movie at least 40 times and I never get bored of it.

If you are looking for a hilarious movie; you've found it. This movie has to be one of the best movies ever made. The movie goes back to the depression era. The movie is all about three escaped convicts (Everett, Pete, and Delmar) with nothing to lose and alot to gain. Their adventures through the barren landscape includes run-ins with a blind prophet, a trio of sexy Sirens, a so called Bible-salesman, as well as other stuff from Southern folklore and pop-culture including a young blues musician, the Klan, and bank robber Baby Face Nelson. This movie is a must see. Definitely one of the best movies ever made, and the more you watch it the funnier it gets. Would Definitely recommend for everyone!

If your like me and had grandparents who lived thru the depression and actually talked about it then this movie will be a visceral experience into the past. The imagery is amazing and the humor both slapstick and sublime. The music is like sitting on a porch on a hot summer night and rocking to the sounds of the night, a totally enjoyable and comfortable feeling that brings back memories even if they may not be your own. Watch this movie!

excellent movie, good for many laughs. great storyline and excellent acting on all rolls. i decided to buy this movie cause the whole family can sit down and watch it when nothing else is good on tv.

i think the funniest part where he singing on stage, and the second one is where they think he turn into a toad.there where no dislikes about movie.
