Album Notes Mexican norteno outfit Conjunto Primavera is among the most successful groups in its field, but they were far from an overnight sensation. They started turning out rootsy Mexican music that leaned toward the corrido style in the late '70s, and fame was slow in coming, but they persisted year after year and album after album. After a musical sea change that found the band moving towards more of a lush, melodic ballad style, they hit big in the late '90s. Throughout their career, though, their trademark blend of vocal harmonies, accordion, and horns has established Conjunto Primavera as one of the most consistent norteno groups around. The retrospective NUESTRA HISTORIA aims to look back at the group's career and manages to pick out the highlights from their many albums, providing both a convenient thumbnail sketch for newcomers and a hardy summing-up for longtime aficionados.
