Nubs by Brian Dennis, Kirby Larson, Mary Nethery (2009, Reinforced Hardcover)

We have 2 6 six old grandsons.........thought this would be a perfect Christmas Book for them...especially since it is a true story.

I read about Nubs in a magazine so I was excited to see it on half.com. The book is more for children than adults so that part disappointed me. The story of this German Shepherd will touch your heart. I am not sorry I read it ...just expected more detail. Still a good book to read - about love and dedication.

I purchased this book for myself and my grandson. Both of us are great dog lovers and this book is such a warm and positive story. It is a true testament to our canine buddies and the bond they have with people. It is a great book for children of all ages. It has many wonderful colorful photographs and is an easy read. This book also provides a glimpse into the world of our troops and how a small relationship with a very special dog can bring a sense of home to our brave men and women. I would recommend this book as a great gift for anyone and especially children.

The marine, Brian Dennis, who adopted Nubs was on the Today show -- with Nubs. He told about this book that he wrote and his love for this dog and the dog's love for him. It is a great story for young and old.

I saw Major Dennis on television as he related this story. I have a co-worker who is even more of a pet lover than I am, so I bought this for her for Christmas.

What a great book to give to a child!! What a touching story!! I can't want to read this book to my students. This would be a great book for any teacher.
