Synopsis This work of romantic suspense is set in the same Louisiana town as the author's previous thriller, KISS THEM GOODBYE. Two years ago, Stephanie Gray was stabbed with an ice pick during a Mardi Gras parade. Bookseller Ellie Byron was the only person who actually observed the murder, but she's still not sure that the man convicted for the crime, Charles Penn, was the true culprit. Now Penn's escaped from prison and another woman has been killed with an ice pick. The murders seem to mimic those committed in the mystery novels of a local author, and the latest one, DEATH OF A WITNESS, suggests that the next actual death could be Ellie's. Ellie's neighbor Joe Gable's brave enough to try and keep Ellie safe, but is he brave enough to finally confess his true feelings for her?
