Those who ponder the woeful aftereffects of Jeff Foxworthy's comedic success can relax when it comes to standup comic Bill Engvall. Engvall's not one of those neo-HEE HAW types who plays up the "dumb hick" routine just to appeal to Foxworthy's audience. Although he's not anyone's idea of a thinking man's comedian, Engvall's routines are carefully constructed, and delivered with enough subtlety and dynamism to appeal to anyone put off by Homer-and-Jethro types.
Engvall's takes on animals, clothes, the '90s, and his (and most comedians') favorite subject, stupid people, will appeal to anyone with a sense of humor that goes beyond SEINFELD reruns. Of course, the fact that Tracy Byrd and Neal McCoy turn up on a musical number won't hurt Engvall's stock with the country crowd either.

    Bill Engvall's album Now That's Awesome proves once again that he is country comedy's answer to Bill Cosby's story-telling stand-up style. His uncanny ability to spin hilarious yarns out of everyday events keeps his listeners captivated throughout.

    Everyone with children will appreciate his riffs on family vacations, driving an RV, and shopping experiences with his eight-year-old son while shopping for feminine products. The two songs at the end of the album are also very funny.

    Now That's Awesome is a great album to share with the family. Engvall's clean comedic style will be appreciated by all. We HIGHLY recommend buying this album, grabbing a bowl of Cheetos, and sitting down for an evening of laughter.
