Nothing Like the Sun - Sting (CD 1987)

I own this album, first I bought the LP (remember vinyl), then I bought the 45 of the singles (that just yells at how old I am) then I bought several cassettes (more than 3) I kept wearing them out. Today I am on my second CD and my backed up MP3s. I did a lot of good things while listening to Sting and I also did a lot of bad things (that felt really good). Call me sentimental, but I can’t listen to this CD and not be transported to another time, another place, another life. Long lost but never forgotten.

Nothing Like The Sun help me become socially conscious, forced to know who Pinochet was and what he did. Made Ruben Blades cool and Marcelis a God. I learned not all Aliens are illegal and that dancing alone was not about being a rebel but just the only form of protest they are allowed. It taught me that my wounds made me stronger and the birds on the roof will never be chased away. Sometimes I sit in church and sing rock steady to myself. I have never looked at the moon the same since. I knew little wing, we all did, she went to school with us, she was beautiful and tragic and made the night explode in emotional fireworks. In the end, I married my wife five years after we officially married, because on the day we met we had a secret marriage vow. We knew from day one it was forever, a vow that never could be broken…...

I ALWAYS love to hear Sting, but not familiar with these songs so didn't enjoy it as much as I thought I would.
